All You Need To Know About The D5500
Busch writes easy to understand, comprehensive manuals for popular DSLRs, and his guide to the Nikon D5500 is a fine example of his work. The D5500 is a great camera, and has some technical features new to Nikon users, or at least new to non-pro level cameras. Busch covers the D5500's full range of operations, and capabilities, and in a way that helps tailor the camera's use to each reader's particular need. A cover-to-cover read is not for the faint-hearted, and this is not a book you can stuff in your camera bag for reference. However, with your camera by your side the author will teach you how to set up, and get the most out of your D5500, and as you decide to expand your photography skills you'll be able to find the necessary information, and guidance.

SO much better than the Nikon Manual!
I recently entered the world of DSLR photography. Tiring of pocket cams and cell phone 'snapshots', I purchased my first DSLR. It only took a day or two with the new camera before I realized I needed some assistance and Dave Busch's guide was exactly what I needed.Very thorough from A-Z. He possesses a wry wit too, something you do not see often in instruction manuals.Even though it has now been nearly two years into my new passion, I still refer to it from time to time to either refresh a point or to find out a better way to photograph something. If you have or are thinking of purchasing a Nikon D5500, I cannot recommend this guide highly enough. Buy it, read it (with your camera handy); and you will notice your 'snapshots' turning into true photographs!

Excellent, user friendly manual for D5500!
EXCELLENT!!! I wish I would have known about this book when I received my camera 3 years ago! So helpful and user friendly. Expert knowledge on my specific camera! The author has similar books for other cameras. I’m learning about the many fantastic features of my camera through this book...specifics on exposure, focus options, metering, and semi-automatic features of my camera to help me get started shooting outside the “auto” mode. And through the book, I finally know how to shoot video! Must have! Well worth the price.

A great book for the new user or more experienced photographers.
Being new to this type of camera and it's many intricacies I've found this guide is perfect for teaching me, step by step, in explanations that leave most of the technical jargon out, everything needed to get the best results for the different kinds of photos I take. The small manual that comes with the camera had me jumping from one section to another trying to find the information I needed, and in the end left me more confused than when I started out.I recommend this book, and David's companion book, the "Compact Field Guide", to anyone who purchases this great camera, whether they're a first time user or are more experienced but want to fine tune its use.

Must have for D5500 owners
This book is great! It goes through every detail of the relatively new Nikon D5500 to help you understand the settings and how to use the camera to its fullest. There are so many features of DSLR cameras these days that you really need someone like David Busch to help you find and understand everything. This book is definitely too big to carry around with your camera, so if you're looking for something portable, this probably isn't your best option. But if you want a book you can methodically work through at home and learn your camera inside and out, this is a great option.

I love this series
I love this series. I own a canon, but my mom purchased the Nikon. She was struggling to learn about all the new features on her new camera. I adore my copy of the canon and bring it with me everywhere I go. I find it easy to use and to reference and I thought my mom could benefit. I was right. My mom is able to use her camera to it's fullest ponytail; I love seeing her photos and her appreciation for her book.

A very thorough and well organized book.
I don't think you'll find a better reference for your camera than this book. Buy it and study it and you'll be well on your way to mastering the camera! One tiny suggestion for the author. the font could be a little larger and more defined for aging eyes.
