I like that it fits right where the old one was and I didn't have to modify it any. It seems like good quality and durability

The first time it was used the plastic housing broke into pieces as I tightened the spare tire to the frame housing. (three pieces of plastic fell into the spare tire)I lowered the spare tire, removed the hoist and inspected it. The side of the plastic housing was open to the environment and considered unsafe for the use. Put back into the box it came in.I reinstalled the original hoist that has a clutch to prevent over tightening and it works. I would like to replace the hoist, but not with the same recently purchased

Installation for my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 was easy and quick. Removed only two bolts to remove to replace old one. Construction of this Hoist is of good quality and worked as expected. Dealers wanted $250.00 or more for the same part so price value is well worth it.

Why pay more for something I have used once in 20 years? The internal plastic gear broke on the original when I had to use it. A little difficult to install but that is just the nature of this particular part due to location.
