2 year old likes Roll & Play better; you could make this game yourself with stuffed animal and index cards
Hmmm I like the other ThinkFun game better - the Roll & Play Game (my 2 year old finds that more fun and it's half the price $20 instead of $40, which this is priced at right now...)This is just a stuffed sun, with 18 double-sided cards that fit inside a pouch (the other is a cube with cards that fit in the couch, but you roll dice onto a color, and pick that color card; this one you hide sun and have them find it based on the card? Unless I'm not playing right ha...)Teaches positional concepts "BEHIND, FRONT, IN, NEXT, TOP, UNDER" (should be 6 of each or 3 cards since they are double sided so I am missing a FRONT and UNDER card). The roll & play (see my review https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R10U2OLO54A6HW/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0070A9OUA- I also listed all cards) has fun ones like ROAR like a lion, hop 5 x, pat your head (much more active) and teaches colors. My son can look at the picture and do what it says, which this game does as well, but doesn't involve the active movements. You honestly could play this with any stuffed animal you have and make index cards:Cards:- BEHIND a door- BEHIND a pillow- BEHIND a box- BEHIND?- BEHIND my back- BEHIND a chair- in FRONT of a TV- in FRONT of a toy- in FRONT of a bag- in FRONT of?- IN a chair- IN a closet- IN a box- IN a drawer- IN a bed- IN ? (make up your own)- NEXT to a chair- NEXT to ?- NEXT to a book- NEXT to a toy- NEXT to a bag- NEXT to a blanket- on TOP of my head- on TOP of a table- on TOP of a pillow- on TOP of a book- on TOP of a box- on TOP of?- UNDER a bed- UNDER a blanket- UNDER my shirt (2 year old likes that one)- UNDER ?

6 years later... my kids STILL LOVE this game!!
My kids LOVE this game. We bought this for my daughter when she was about 2. She’s now almost 8 and we now have a 5 year old too, and they both LOVE it. Honestly when I bought it, I didn’t understand the appeal. It seems too simple. It’s game that where you hide the plush sunshine for the other person to find according to the card you pick (ex. Under a table, on a chair, in a box. Etc etc). The person finding sunshine uses the card as a clue to find sunshine. It’s a great way to teach toddlers/preschoolers positional words. I thought by now my kids would be too old or too bored with this game, but I was wrong! Luckily there’s no flimsy box to maintain. The cards fit nicely into a Velcro pouch sewn right into sunshine.

This was like the crazy wildcard in the bunch of presents this ...
Wow. This was like the crazy wildcard in the bunch of presents this year! My toddler (20 months) LOVES this Sun doll and will actually *keep* playing this over and over even when other toys are thrown down after like 3 minutes. The cards are really cute, seem to be really important for /understanding/ the verbal cues. Like "Hey, the Sunshine is under the chair" and I show her the picture and she runs to the location! (sometimes I have to help her with the right location, but she gets it! It's also adorable when she yells "WHERE IS SUUUNSHIINE?" over and over--with her hands up. The cards are made of cardboard, so expect some bending (immediately by the kid). There is one card where you hide the sunshine under your shirt--IF and WHEN you use this card expect your toddler to expect you to do this OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER! I think I spent at LEAST 15 minutes hiding sunshine under my shirt and then my daughter's shirt--to her delight.I have a (just turned) 3 year old daughter also--who is also /all about the sunshine/ toy. She is old enough to help hide it. But not old enough to remember to let her sister find the toy---instead, she finds it herself after like 20 seconds :P You would think you could do this game with any old toy, but fact is that the Sunshine doll is a better "hide and seek" plush than most of the animals we have lying around the house. Namely, it stands up well (especially with the cards in the bottom pocket.) It has the right of amount of squishy and volume. It's squishy and soft (squishy enough to fit under a toddler's shirt without stretching it), yet large enough to be easily seen in the hiding places. The little "sun rays" on top will poke out of things *just enough* to give a clue about his location. And the face is totally adorable. It's also the perfect hugging size for a toddler.Hands down, this was a favorite this year. This game is really fun for little munchkins who are too young for most other games. (Or 3 year olds who /should/ be able to play other games but don't understand the concept of "games" just yet.) or really for any kid up to age maybe 5 or 6. (Although I'm sure older kids could play this game "ironically" as a hide and seek toy.)

Good toy for toddlers on up
I have 2 kids (almost 2 & almost 5) & this game has been equally fun for both of them. This game comes with 1 stuffed sun & several cards that tell you where to hide it (with pictures so even non-readers can use them). The cards stow away in a velcro pocket on the sun when not in use. This gameis easily adapted for older or younger kids. My kids enjoy taking turns hiding it from each other & for the harder hiding places I help them out by playing "hot & cold", which my 5 yr old loves! My only problem with this game is that I easily could have made my own homemade version of this for cheaper. I considered this before I bought it, but I needed some games pretty quickly & I decides that I just wasn't in the mood to be creative & make my own cards. If you find yourself in the that same boat then I would definitely recommend this. But if you are up to the task of making your own game it would be pretty easy & the concept really is a fun & simple idea.

Loves the toy need to get bubba to realise it's a game!
My little one loves the plush toy itself but is taking her time getting to grips with the idea that its a game. I really like the concept though so I'm going to persevere. My little one is just about to turn 2.

Save your money
My 2 year old grand-daughter has played this game many times since she got it two weeks ago - she likes the plush toy and like all kids the hide-and-go-seek strategy. However, the cards that attempt to make a game of hiding the toy are flimsy - not well laminated, and the picture directions are lacking in imagination and repetitive. One could make up cards more useful with regard to the home or play school environment where the game is to take place, and use any child's plush toy to play it.
