Great for smaller phones
A phone with a bulky cover may not fit into the slots but it fitted and wouldn't rattle. Only downside is you lose the light in the storage holder.

Too thin for a phone with a cover
Looks like it is designed for the left hand drive version - the widest gap (ideal for a phone) is across the top of the gear lever - would be better if just divided equally.Nice idea and fits gap well except if your phone has a full cover it will not slide in.Height of slot shown as a 0.9 inch (approx 23mm) slot but measured it is (0.9" - 0.1" (top) - 0.1" (bottom) - 0.1" (mat) = 0.5" to 0.6" (14mm - 15mm).Real shame, just a bit too clever.
