Definitely not good for sugar patient

I wasn't sure what happened to fruit which had been freeze-dried, but the result of the process is to transform a berry into something light enough to be blown off the palm of your hand, which almost dissolves in the mouth, and has an exquisite taste. (It also stains the fingers, but who cares?) I saw no point in rehydration, but have mixed the whole bag with my dried goji berries and cranberries, to make a lovely concoction, to which I'll add almonds, and have for breakfast on days when I don't have dates and walnuts. These mulberries taste sweeter than those dried in the conventional manner, but mixed with the other berries, this sweetness is ameliorated. I note that aronia berries are also available, which tend to be a bit sour, so I'm tempted to try them - in fact, the whole range is appealing, and I can always use the approach of Christmas as an excuse for self-indulgence. A real treat.

This seems like quite a high price for 95g of product but because they're freeze dried it is actually a lot of mulberries, they are extremely light and take up about the same space as a berry I suppose. It's in the same size bag that would maybe hold about 300g of sugar or ground coffee so that's my gauge. The texture is close to a Wotsit, very soft and crunchy. The flavour is not anything particularly unique, a bit like a raspberry or blackberry, a little aromatic. Half of the berries were sweet and half tart which is a nice contrast. They worked well in a smoothie and a yogurt and can be eaten out of the bag but they stain your fingers black and make your teeth black if you do that so watch out.
