Q: How much weight will the rack support?

I don’t know the weight, you should connect with the owners of the company. We store multiple types of kayaks and paddle boards. It is very sturdy and never in danger of collapse. Great product….we love it!

Q: Is the hardware stainless steel? i live in coastal florida which is highly corrosive and i am wondering if i need to change the hardware out ...

The materials holding up the kayak I will definitely hold up in Florida some kind of poly carbonate material I don’t know what the screws are made out of

You do not need to secure this rack against a wall, as it is a stand alone rack. It is very sturdy (I love it) and weather proof. I have mine against a fence that blocks a very strong wind we get on our lake and it has never been a problem. If you are exposed, you might want to secure to something. I did read somewhere that another customer did secure due to high winds....definitely would not be necessary in a storage room.

Each are is slightly different. 2 rack: Bottom arm actual length 43” Useable length 34” Top arm actual length 33” Useable length 30” 3 rack: Bottom arm actual length 43” Usable length 34” Middle arm actual length 33” Usable length 27” Top arm actual length 30” Usable length 27” 4 rack: Bottom arm actual length 39” Usable length 30” 2nd arm up actual length 35” Usable length 28” 3rd arm up actual length 32” Usable length 27” Top arm actual length 28” Usable length 26” When comparing the usable length of an arm to the width of your craft be sure to NOT measure the centre width but approximately 1/3 in front the ends. Most sups, kayaks and canoes taper narrower as you move away from centre and that’s where the craft will be sitting on the arm. Thanks for the inquiry.
