No smell!
Keeps my house smelling normal. We are indoor canabis growers and have always stopped growing in winter as we cannot have the outake fan venting outdoors in -30*c. We finally tried these filters, they work great. Have been growing for a few months now and still no smell. Worth the money.

Good filter for the price
Does a great job. Dosen't remove ALL the odor when it's a strong one, but it does reduce it immensely. Was the cheapest on amazon and I don't regret it.

One speed, large, and loud
This package has a good price and it works as intended. Installation was easy and the product seems to be rock solid. The blower is a bit tough to mount. It is heavy and has a small mounting base. It only has one speed and it comes on when plugged in.

Big, heavy, and no instructions
I haven't actually used it yet, and four stars might be generous--but it appears well made, and the fan puts out some serious wind! But here's something that bothered me. There were NO instructions at all. Just one tiny pamphlet about the fan. I had no idea how I was supposed to set this up because all along I have imagined that the air went in one side of the filter and out the other--not so at all. The air gets sucked in through the sides of the filter, and then passes through the fan into the ducting and out to wherever you point it. There really should be some instructions included. Also, they talk about the "mounting bracket" on the fan. Uhm, unless I'm missing something, that's a really specific bracket and certainly there is no way to mount anything inside my tent using that. I ended up moving two of my ceiling poles closer together and hanging it from them.It was nearly impossible putting up the filter myself. Again, no instructions, and absolutely nothing provided to mount the filter with. I had to use the belt off my bathrobe as a pulley to hold it in place and ended up putting a bunch of zip ties around the unit, and then more zip ties suspending it from the ceiling poles. After I got all this done, I was too worn out to attempt to wiggly the ducting onto the end of the fan. Not looking forward to that at all, as the side of the fan you do that on has a very small sticking out area (yes, I realize that's not a great description, but...).The fan is heavy. The filter is enormous. I think, if my mounting holds and I get the duct attached, it will be amazingly effective. I hope so.

Cigar smoke/smell be gone !
I put this 8" filter in my covered backyard porch. I use vinyl walls (southernpatioenclosures.com) for my 10' x 24' patio. I unboxed the filter and fan, put the filter on a small end table, put the fan on top and plugged it in. No bolts, no screws, no mounting, nothing.... It moves the smoke around like crazy and kept the air very clean. I was impressed with no smell and no smoke lingering. I also got the speed control (you MUST get the "Brushless" controller !!!!, I got: this one "Active Air ACSC Duct Fan Speed Adjuster" from amazon as well ). It works great! I put a few pictures to help get a sense of size.Is it big ? Yes. It is noisy ? Yes. Does it work clearing smoke/smell ? YES.
