Product is great. (Edited) (Edited again to reflect after a month.)
The touch-control remote isn't as sensitive as the touch buttons on the console itself. The air conditioner is decently quiet and gets quieter on the whisper mode or eco mode. This air conditioner outputs air pretty well and it's chilled how you expect an air conditioner to work. However I just received it yesterday in 75 degree weather in oregon. Not overloaded with humidity or anything I just wanted to try it when i got it. I waited 12 hours from when it got shipped to me to start it even though it looked like it was held upright and taken care of during shipping. Worked great, ran it for 2 hours on the bottom floor of my apartment. However i start it the next day and I'm greeted by a smell that can only be described as "fish". Not fishy but exactly like fish. The smell might go away, I'll even try cleaning the filter and I'll update an edit with how it goes in the near future. I just think it's not great that after 2 hours of operation and 24 hours in not that humid of setting equals fish smell. The unit so far is great and the only thing is this random fish smell. I haven't had to use it yet but I can't Express how important getting a supplementary protection plan is. Theres a 4 year coverage option available that covers for 4 years. You get 2 years of coverage from the manufacturer and the plan is supposed to "take over" once that 2 years is up. The plan says they'll cover everything including shipping. Idk if they'll cover shipping while the manufacturers coverage is active but even so. Its expensive to ship a like 80 pound item and with something this expensive to buy I'd rather wait 2 years to have it covered and fixed than pay even more in shipping than the protection plan costs. Also let's be real. Within 4 years it's likely you'll need servicing anyways. Just wanted to give a heads up to future buyers.Edit: the fish smell was gone when I ran it the day after. Idk what's up with that. It may or may not come back. However before purchasing I wanted to let future customers know not to compare their air conditioners or window units directly to portables. WINDOW UNITS ARE INHERENTLY BETTER. With how they are manufactured and operate is different. Portables arent on the same level and if you're expecting the same result you're in for a bad time. Do your research. Single hose portables draw in air from inside and can cause air from outside to be drawn in. Dual hose units draw in air from the outside and avoid this problem. Getting an air conditioner depends on your humidity, area of room you're trying to cover and the efficiency of the air conditioner itself. Keep in mind that portables were forced to have a different rating system from regular air conditioners and to look and verify the new ratings before purchase. For the price of single hose units this one appears to be the best if you cant go above $500-$600. Not many dual hose units seem to be available. However don't get a portable and expect it to be just as good as a unit that if through a window or roof. This unit pushes out cold air and at a decent volume. May not make your whole area an ice box but if it can cool it from 90-100 degrees to a more manageable 70-80 it's still worth it if you cant have anything other than a portable unit.Second edit: I've used this unit multiple times and only had a fishy smell the one time. Still don't know what that was about. However the air conditioner is good, has run clean of any smells since then and has done a good job of cooling off my livingroom / kitchen / downstairs area of my apartment. This seems to be the best buy that actually cools around this price range, going any higher will cost you a lot more. I've changed my review to five stars since that random fish smell hasn't been an issue and everything has worked as expected. Kinda sad the touch remote isn't as sensitive as the console itself but that's just me and I won't knock off a star for that as it still works reliably. Overall I'm happy about it even if it did cost a lot of money. Worth a try for anyone that can't have a window unit or similar.

Works great, easy install!
There are some complaints about the noise level. Having an engineering background I will tell you that the noise produced by this portable AC is low in DB's. We have an open concept home (living room, dining room and kitchen). This unit works fast and very efficient. I used a relative humidity meter in the kitchen to measure efficiency (unit is installed in living room). When I first installed and turned on the unit, the relative humidity was 62% with a room temp of 74deg. Running on high fan, (cooling setting at 68deg), the relative humidity dropped to 54% within 2 hours and the ambient room temp dropped to 70deg! Impressive!I have also used the dehumidification setting and was equally impressed. The square footage that this AC is covering is over 600 sq ft!The install was very easy with great directions. My only complaint? The unit (ALL portable air conditioners in fact) should come with a hose insulator. There is a tremendous amount of cooling loss due to the heat gain in the hose. For an additional $45 I just purchased the Delonghi 6" hose insulator (zip on). I'll put up a review after I receive and use it.Highly recommended, after 2 weeks anyways. I'll update as time goes on.***update***Ok, after a week I do wish that the remote lit up and had the temp displayed. Still highly recommended, just a suggestion to the manufacture.

Quit working after 1 year
We live in the northern US so it isn't in use for very long. It lasted 1 year and 6 days and I started getting the PF error code which means "probe failure" a quick google search of this code for Delonghi products lets you know that it is a common issue.Since it has a 2 year warranty I called into their support and they had me try the usual stupid stuff to get it working again, which included (and I am not kidding) 'shaking' the machine vigorously. When none of that worked they agreed to ship out a new unit to me. So I guess that is good, problem is it is now warm here and I am without the unit until the new one arrives. They said someone from their 'offline' team would contact me in a few days, that hasn't happened yet.I understand that things break, but just really disappointed this didn't even make it a year. Also why are they still selling these things with the same frailty with the temperature probe. It isn't a new issue. Whatever, if they ship a new one and it lasts fine ... at this point I thought I should put up a review so others would at least be aware of the potential issues with this unit.***UPDATE: It has been nearly a month since I started the warranty process and they still haven't replaced the unit. They have quit responding altogether. Honestly I would steer clear of this company, I don't think they are dishonest, just disorganized. It shouldn't take a month to replace an item. Even if it did considering the world economy right now, they should be communicating with me.***UPDATE: Over six weeks now and they still haven't replaced the unit. They keep promising to send a new one out, but it is all just empty words. This company is having serious issues. My recommendation is to avoid dealing with these people. They are just too disorganized. I am sending an email to them every day that I don't get a response. I think eventually they will send a replacement ... but half the summer is already gone. This company has completely and utterly failed to live up to their promises.

Unbox the day it arrives
We have purchased several of these units and LOVE them however the last two have arrived damaged. Look at the water tank underneath to ensure there are no cracks in the plastic. If you can get one that arrives safely you will have years of a great experience both cooling and dehumidifying
