Q: How think are these magnets? 1/2" diameter, but how thick?

They are actually metric, so 5 mm thick (0.19685 inches) and 18 mm wide (0.708661 inches)

Q: I have a bunch of old bottle caps, and want to make them into fridge magnets. Are these about the right size?

possibly, but just so you know, once they have the bottle cap on them they wont be able to hold anything else up. it takes 4 of them to hold a 4x6 photo onto my fridge.

Q: Do these have a center hole?

Some of mine did and some did not. Weird I know. I'd contact the seller and see if they can get you a pack with all holes.
