Awesome for Immune Health and helpful for IBS Sufferers
I have been taking these for several years. I suffer from IBS and it only got worse after I had chemo. A friend told me that a friend of hers took it for the same situation and that it helped them.I've had many people make suggestions regarding products that may help IBS. I'd tried many different products including probiotics, digestive enzymes, etc... which often gave me short term help but nothing lasting as my body adjusted to them at some point. I was very skeptical about the turkey tail mushrooms and didn't want to waste more money on something else that didn't work; but because it was a really close friend that mentioned them to me and because I knew she would ask me about it again I thought I'd just give it a go so that I could at least say I'd tried them.At first I wasn't even sure what I was looking for and my friend didn't know much about them either, all she knew was that they were called Turkey Tail mushrooms. I finally found out that they were a supplement in capsule form and when I went looking for them I expected to find them in the supplements under "digestive health" but they were with the "immune health" supplements. The directions say to take 2 per day but I only take 1 and it works great for me. I take it in the morning after I eat breakfast. It doesn't cure IBS but it helps tremendously. I used to have daily episodes with a lot of pain and discomfort but now I only occasionally have problems. The actual purpose of these is that they boost your immune system. I have to say that in this way they are amazing and I rarely get sick. After I had chemo, I got sick at the drop of a hat as my immune system was shot and never really bounced back. These are incredible for boosting the immune system. One other thing that I found is that these have been involved in studies by the NIH (National Institute of Health) for treating breast cancer patients. I am a survivor of breast cancer so I found this very interesting. Turkey Tail mushrooms have been studied and shown to have measurable benefits. I encourage you to look this info up!These have also been used in Chinese medicine as early as the 15th century as a boost for the immune system. I am not exaggerating about it when I say that during cold and flu season I would get a cold, feel sick for 2 weeks, well for 1, sick for 2, well for 1, etc... and now I RARELY get sick and if I do, it doesn't last long and isn't severe.I recommend these to anyone and everyone. I've seen no side effects of any kind, they are completely natural and very affordable. My doctor has given me the thumbs up for these. I don't think there are any concerns about any drug interactions or anything else bad about these but always check with a doctor to make sure.I've also looked up info and researched the Host Defense company that makes these. I read somewhere that they are THE brand to get for Turkey Tail Mushrooms and that this was the brand used in the breast cancer studies. I like that the company is environmentally friendly and a family owned business. I encourage you to do your own research on them as well!I usually buy these from the local food co-op through a special order which takes at least a week but I was low on them and needed them quickly so I purchased these from NetRush. They processed my order and shipped them to me at lightning speed, I'm very happy and satisfied with their service!

A boost for my immune system with a "happiness bubble" bonus
I'm taking these to help boost my immune system to battle the dreaded Cedar Fever prevalent in the Hill Country around Austin, Texas. I started taking them on November 22, 2015. An NIH study found they were effective to boost the immune system. Host Defense are a good quality product made by Paul Stamens at Fungi Perfecti. So far I have not been knocked out by Cedar Fever like I usually am - though I still cough a lot, in the mornings especially. I also feel a little "happiness bubble" inside me. I don't know if the turkey tails are helping but I'm still standing so I'm going to keep taking them. My husband has started taking them recently to see if they would help his allergies to Cedar Fever. His blood pressure and heart rate have come down beautifully and he says he is feeling much calmer and better able to cope with whatever life throws at him.

Turkey Tail and hemangiosarcoma
I had worked in the oncology department of the Clinic I currently work in, and a patient had mentioned he had taken these capsules- he is now a cancer survivor. My dear sweet 14 year old Corgi was diagnosed in April 2017 with a hemangiosarcoma in her spleen. I remembered our patient mentioning Turkey Tail, and put my girl on 3 capsules a day (she's 20 pounds). It's March 25, 2018 and she's still with us. I was beside myself when the vet gave me the diagnosis and thought she'd be gone in a matter of a month or so. Anything that gives you as much time as you can possibly have with your companion animal is a blessing and should be tried if you can try it. I want to state I am not giving medical or veterinary advice, simply providing my own experience with this product and that you might have the same results. I am grateful for Paul Stamets Turkey Tail and the extra time I have had with my girl.UPDATE: my Corgi girl passed May 25, 2018. She lived over 13 months thanks to the Turkey Tail. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am. At the time, my vet said it was not possible. I knew in my heart it was the Turkey Tail and I had done the right thing. Here it is Oct 2022, and I am reading “The Forever Dog” by Karen Shaw Becker and Rodney Habib. They cite a study where dogs diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma and do not receive treatment only live an average of 86 days. Treated with Turkey Tail, dogs have been known to live over a year. It’s very reassuring to know you have done the right thing by your companion animal, even if it is confirmed years later.

Two a day Every Day for Me!
This supplement will always be a part of my nutrient regime. And here's why..in March 2016 after having a breast reduction surgery, I was diagnosed with stage 0 Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), yup...breast cancer. After I picked myself up from the floor, I began the education process. This led me to an NIH (National Institute of Health) study on breast cancer which talked about a recent study featuring Turkey Tail Mushrooms as helping reduce the rates of breast cancer reoccurrence (Google: breast cancer +NIH + turkey tail mushrooms). Then more research led me to a TedTalkMD (a youtube video) by the scientist that manufactures this product. So when I found it on Amazon, I ordered it. Then 60 days later it was time to have my mastectomy with reconstruction. By this time I had been on Host Defense Turkey Tail Capsules for about two months as well as eating a well balanced vegetarian diet. Now, let me just back up for a moment for clarity sake. Because my cancer was found during a breast reduction, the pathology was definitive, I had cancer and they could even tell what type it was...aggressive. After the mastectomy, the next pathology report indicated "no detectable cancer cells". Now, was it the diet, exercise, turkey tail capsules or God? I'll let you judge, but I can tell you that I now (and always will) start my day with PRAYER and my dose of Turkey Tail Capsules. My only wish, is that Amazon would sell a bigger bottle, because I'm gonna need it.
