Strawberry Shortcake Pancake Keto Mug Cake Cups by Birch Benders, Grain-free, Gluten-Free, only 4 Net Carbs (8 Single Serve Cups)

The flavor is good, i just really don't like the texture. Kind of like eating soft sand. I just don't care for it myself but its an option for a low carb diet.

After having eaten other convenient microwave-in-a-cup type meals and snacks, having a low-carb maple pancake type option seemed great. I love pancakes but don't eat them because of all the carbs.The first time I tried these, I thought I must have done something wrong -- there was no maple flavor discernible, and not much flavor at all. The texture was interesting -- almost pancake-like but with a bit of graininess -- but there was no flavor.My second try, after cooking I tried adding butter and some low-carb pancake syrup (Walden Farms brand). That helped, but not much.For my third try, I reasoned that since Walden Farms pancake syrup is basically water with sweeteners, flavor and texturizers added, perhaps I should try using it in place of the water used for cooking. That worked better -- I finally had some maple flavor. Adding butter and some additional syrup made it acceptable but still a disappointment. Maybe I should do like some of the others and try adding some vanilla.In the end, all this really supplies is flavorless, grainy, fluff -- any flavor you get will be from something else you added. At nearly $2.50 a cup, that doesn't seem like a very good buy.

I have purchased both the pancake and the birthday cake. The birthday cake was good. Tasted like cake. I let it cool before eating with that flavor. The pancake is not that good. A little gritty and no flavor. I'm very disappointed and because you have to buy a box of 8, am stuck with 7 more of this flavor. Too bad they don't have a variety box. I'm hesitant to buy again because of being stuck with one flavor that isn't good.

These are obviously not going to taste like hot off the griddle fluffy wheat based pancakes, so understand what you're getting. If you are already used to low carb muffin in a minute recipes using almond flour, that's precisely what this is, in a convenient cup. It smells divine coming out of the microwave and has my office always saying ooooh what is that! It's fluffy, it's warm, it has a slight maple flavor, and it gets me through my day without cheating with high carb crap. I keep pats of butter in the office fridge and throw one on top to give me a little more satiety. Yes, these are pricey, but they are super convenient and I don't eat them daily. Nice hot cup of tea, and one of these hits the spot.

The texture and taste were off. Easy to use. Tastes sugar free. I didn't get a Strawberry shortcake feel from it. Won't buy again.

Overall, the flavor is amazing. But for such a small snack you consume 1/4 of your daily carbs allowance, making you think twice kind of situation. It's good for a high activity day. Oh, and is a bit pricy. That is said and done, I'll buy it again :D

The texture is bad, the flavor is cloying, these are really, really not good. I get it, we're on keto, we like to have treats and pretend we're eating normal things, but let's face it: we shouldn't accept not good things simply because they fit our macros. Birch Benders regular pancake mix is amazing. Some of the best pancake mix I've ever had. Their keto mix and these Strawberry keto cups are definitely a valiant effort to give keto dieters a sense of normalcy, but maybe normal is bad?Don't get these. You'll eat one and throw the rest away and be out a shocking amount of money.
