easy to install!
Replaced a Kenmore Softener (which was made by Whirlpool). Aside from putting blocks under the new one, which is about 4 inches shorter, I was sble to simply "plug" it in to the existing connection from the old softener!!Easy as pie!The newer programming system is far easier to program and I like the light thatvtells me when the salt is low, since I have to go jnder the house to service it. Now, all I dobis open the door, look in, and if ghe light is not flashing...no salt needed! It is also using LESS salt per month than the old one.One tip...Do NOT put salt in the softener until you complete the initial cleaning process!

The installation was easy.
This model was replacing a 10-year old version of the same model. The old one worked so well and lasted so long despite the fact that I never did anything but put salt in it. I never did any of the prescribed maintenance and it lasted 10 years. I disassembled it, cleaned it and reassembled it and it worked for several more months while I ordered the new one (same model). Even after receiving the new one, I waited until the old one failed again (which I knew it would at some point) before replacing it. The new one went in easy and it works GREAT! I'll take care of this one and perhaps I'll get 20 years out of it!

Will Amazon help me with the softener that was improperly delivered?
The softener lasted 12 months before it broke down. The softener was delivered by your driver by rolling it off the truck and up the driveway and leaning it upside down against the garage door. The box weighed about 100 pounds. My plumber got it working, it did for about a year then it all went very bad. The back wash feature didn't turn off as it should have and I got a water bill of over $1,000 for water and sewer usage since I was unaware what was happening.I should have sent it back immediately but since it worked I didn't. Now a massive water and sewer bill as well as having to buy another one. Will Amazon do anything about it for me?

Great product
The 33,000 unit as been installed about a month and thus far we have been very satisfied. Arrived in good shape. Because this was the first softener in this house, we needed a plumber for the connection to the water line and had him install unit. Had this been a replacement, it appears that we could have done it ourselves. Will take us some months, per plumber, to determine where we prefer the soft water settings, but it's easy to do. No more hard water residue which is delightful.

Great, but buy it locally!
Made in USA by Ecodyne for Whirlpool. High quality with a warranty that’s extendable if you use the Whirlpool WHE-WSC cleaner as directed. But, buy it locally if at all possible. These do not handle shipping well. The heavy resin tank can shift position inside of the salt storage tank and break things as it did in the one I purchased here from Aquasana. The rim plate shattered and a spoke broke from the bottom brine assembly. Aquasana was no help and just directed me to call Whirlpool (actually, Ecodyne.) Ecodyne really needs to put a foam insert in the salt storage tank to stabilize the resin tank. This applies to the WHES33 as well as the identical WHES33E.

Does not feel well built, may not last
Unit is not reliable. Called support and they sent a local water appliance guy, which used the visit to say bad things about this product. While purchased new, seems this model was in awarehouse for some time. I may have to replace it. Support seems to go by a script and don't know different state building codes. Mike is installed as allowed by code where I reside. I had a GE for 12 years and replaced with this one. Had problems with this one just 3 days after install.

Easy to Install and Works Perfectly
Working perfectly so far. I did some research and found out how easy it was to diy install using Sharkbite fittings. Install time was about an hour since I was replacing a tank exchange system and the plumbing was in place. Programming took a few minutes and then the sanitizing and charging process about 3 -4 hours. We had soft water as soon as that was completed. Total investment was under 500.00 with parts.
