I am really happy with this BELL Super Air helmet, very comfortable, great features.
I ride All-Mountain to Enduro in the pacific northwes; some fairly fast and steep moto trails. We've been wearing basic helmets such as Fox and Giro and my wife has a POC but they are all just top shells for Trail riding. Well after my wife caught a pedal on a fairly steep rooty section and did a flying header face first into a large cut off stump, hiked out 2 miles in shock and went to the ER to have the hole in her face patched up... I decided it was time to replace my 5+ year old standard helmet. Here's what I like about this Bell Super Air:- It is very comfortable, looks and feels well designed- Light weight- easy to install chin bar- Good visibility with the chin bar installed- Great ventilation- Sweat seems to channel away from my eyeballs, and I can work up a good stream when riding- Does not feel like it is riding on my brow-line like the TLD I had for a short period and ditched-I love the adjustable visor, it is very functional and easy to use (no screws, just detents)Con's:The thumb adjuster for tightness is a bit small and hard to reach.I highly recommend this helmet.

Its expensive but its a great helmet.
I've been ridding with this helmet for a couple months now and really like it. Its lightweight and has good ventilation. I don't notice it at all while riding which is very important to me. I am a relatively new mountain biker and I bought this helmet because I wanted a helmet that could progress with me. I like the option of being able to have the chin bar when things start to get really technical or I start to jump more but also have the option of an open face for regular trail days. Its not downhill helmet and I don't intent to use it for that as I'm not a dh rider (yet) but its a great helmet for those who want a little extra protection with out all the heft of a full dh helmet.I've only had one issue so far and that was with sizing. I already own a Bell road biking helmet in size large which fits great and has a size range of 58-62cm. Bells website list the same range for the super air r Large so that's initially what I ordered. When I tried it on I could not tighten it enough. Maybe it was a faulty tighten mechanism but I returned it for a medium and it fits much better tho its close to being to snug (not enough to bother me).I also had an issue with the seller. They removed the helmet from its original packaging and shipped it in a box the was to small. It was bulging at the sides and had no protection. It left the helmet very susceptible to damage. Luckily it appeared to be ok but I think that is extremely poor business practice as it calls in to question the authenticity and condition of the product. So while I do recommend the helmet I do not recommend the seller Gotta Ride Bikes.

Lightweight, Breathable, & great adjustable fitment.
I can see why they call it the "Air." This helmet is constructed for cooling features and fitment without sacrificing safety. Love that it has MIPS certification, and I consider it a necessity when looking for a helmet. You only get one body, protect it as best as you can. The Bell Air R comes in a variety of design colorways able to suit the style and needs of any enthusiest.

Just as comfortable as a road bike helmet.
I put a Bafang BBS02 motor on my Rans Recumbent. Average speed for this Class 3 ebike is about 22 MPH. Going down the mountains, gravity takes her into the 30s and I have maxed out twice at 43. My simple Schwinn road bike helmet is not going to give my face and chin any protections at those speeds.I tried a cheap full face helmet but the sizing and comfort were all wrong. Then I decided to get the Bell 3R but the buckle and strap system looked exactly the same as my $20 Schwinn helmet from Wal-Mart. It seemed over priced. Fortunately the 3R was sold out everywhere and the Super R Air was available and in a decent color. The Super Air R is also lighter than the 3R.I was still expecting a tight and heavy helmet but I was loosing my nerve on some of the hills and wanted a better helmet.Bottom line; This is just as comfortable as a road bike helmet. It is only a little heavier but the perfect fit makes up for it and you will not notice the weight. The only intrusion into my field of view is a little bit of the chin guard and the visor. My first ride tonight was 32 miles and spent 2 1/2 hours with it on even during breaks. You forget it is there.I always wear a dew rag under my helmets to keep the bugs out of my hair and in the winter I wear a fleece skull cap. Both fit nicely with this helmet. The removable chin guard works OK but I spent the money on this so I could have full face protection. The chin guard is never coming off.

Good for the ol noggin.
Great helmet, super light. Felt like I wasn’t wearing a full face at all. Airflow is first rate with no whistling . removing the chin guard is simple. Over all one of the best helmets I’ve owned.

Light weight
It feels comfortable and didn’t take me long to figure out the mechanism that holds the chin bar I place. I would give it 5 stars except the strap under my chin isn’t comfy. I’ve never felt one that is, so maybe they don’t exist! I measured my head size and got the medium that fits great. There is also a skull cage that can be adjusted for a better fit.

Great fit, safety, and features
Excellent Bell helmet with a super unique convertible design allowing you to have 1 helmet with 2 configurations. I use the full face when at the bike park, and I remove it for easier trails. Very study design, comfortable, and includes a GoPro mount to boot! The entire tightening assembly can be adjusted to a few different positions, for the best fit (raising or lowering the dial at the back of your head).
