Works great right out of the box

The first unit would not power on, so we returned it, and got a replacement. We struggled with the second unit after several frustrating runs. It will not use other bags we had on hand (Food Saver brand) so we used the supplied bags. After doing 6-7 bags of fish filets, it began to short cycle and seal the bags before all the air was removed. This is not our first device, and we got this as an upgrade from our worn out cheaper units in the past. Aside from the bag type issue it worked ok for the first few bags, although we expected better suction from this more expensive unit. Very disappointed with regard to that, and we made sure the settings were correct. Lastly, there is some sort of mesh tape over the heat seal bar. On other units we’ve had this is usually a gold colored screen/fine mesh integrated into the body of the sealer. This tape was poorly applied (wrinkled) and began to peel off on one end after this one session of use. See photo of this above. With all this, and the major issue with the first unit, we are not keeping it, and seeking a full refund. Perhaps we expected too much, but I don’t think so being honest as we have had cheaper units work as well and better. For the money, this should have been much, much better.

So far, I love the power of the vacuum sealer. I chose this particular product because of the 900W motor.A previous vacuum sealer just did not have enough power to get all the air out. There is a gentle button, which is great for those delicate items that you don't want to be crushed. I sealed a bag of goldfish, and none of them were damaged. There are also modes for dry and liquid, though I have not tried the liquid setting yet. The bag cutter and bag storage are also a nice touch. I have also used it to re-seal store-bought items to keep them fresher longer. It is quite large and takes up a lot of space. I am excited to continue using the vacuum sealer for all my foods and other items and hope it lasts a long time.

I love the product. It works very well, but I found it difficult to work with them in getting a replacement part. I'm not computer savvy and I asked for a mailing address to send copy of invoice and they kept telling me to upload or whatever it's called. I can't do it. So, now, no response at all. But as I said, I Love the product.

Very excited to get this unit. It worked well for awhile then I used it on some moisture containing stuff and got the seals wet and they expanded. This was my error the unit is clearly labeled not to do so. It still kinda worked but you had to push down hard to get to seal. Problem is I could not find replacement seals. I emailed the manufacturer and only got a response after like 6 weeks. In that time the unit stopped working all together. It made it through one alaksa season of fish and game so moderate use. Not at all worth the $300UPDATE: after the 6 week response delay the manufacturer became more responsive and actually sent me a replacement unit and $100 rebate. I cant say how it work yet since I had already purchased a new other brand sealer for our caribou this year. I plan to save the replacement for when my current sealer breaks, sees like nothing lasts more than 1-2 years anymore

This vacuum sealer is the boss of kitchen equipment. I have bought 2-3 other brands prior and within months, they do not work as they should. This vacuum sealer is incredible and always seals on the 1st time in addition to being heavy duty rather than plastic like many other brands! Must buy for anyone in the kitchen!

Just revived my unit two days ago. First day vacuum sealed a pound of deli ham and a pound of block cheese with supplied bags. Seemed to work just fine although the sealing bar tape looked a little worn on the left side upon and arrived peeling on the other end with some wrinkles but nevertheless did my best to smooth the tape out.I’ve owned several food savers over the years which still work btw but wanted an upgrade for the various settings but nevertheless very familiar with vacuum sealing.. Day two, decided to vacuum seal my third dry item which was a small and dense hard bread.. Used the gentle vacuum mode as I didn’t need a hard suction and the unit started smelling like it was on fire!! I immediately went through all of the trouble shooting waiting at least five minutes in between each attempt to vac seal using the “gentle cycle only” and “seal only” when I thought I had enough air out of the bag and each and every time it smells like it’s on fire! I’m at a serious loss and just thankful I didn’t try something moist like a chicken breast but it shouldn’t be doing this let alone on my third item with less then three pounds of food in total.Pls note I always follow supplied instructions to a tee and also used only the supplied bags and just contacted customer support today so awaiting their response. Maybe I just unfortunately received a defective unit, because I did read the reviews and people seem to be over all pleased with the unit. Nevertheless I’m super disappointed because if my unit actually worked properly it seems like it would have fit all of my needs but up in the air about just giving up on this model and returning. I’ll update my review once I get a response from customer support.
