Best investment
This thing is fantastic. This is my second one I've purchased my first one was lost in apartment fire. Battery life is great but I've noticed I can get longer battery life if I take batteries out when not in use. Great fit I love the fact that I can use on multiple calibers without having to purchase multiple like the bullet ones. This dry fire trainer is great to perfect accuracy without having to spend lots on ammo plus I can use at home safely. Also helps when zeroing out my red dot sight.

Excellent indoor trainer
I have been using it for 6 years without a problem.Batteries seem to last about as long in the sight as in my battery drawer.Don't recall if it came with an adjustment wrench, but an 0.05mm hex fits the adjustment screws.I dedicated a S&W, SS Revolver, 4" Barrel, to indoor practice, and I used a solid rest to set the LaserLyte to hit just above the front sight. The laser light flash will tell you a lot about your shooting technique, e.g. if you move off target with your trigger pull, if the gun is moving when it fires, the difference in accuracy using SA or DA, your ability to shoot from the hip, your double tap accuracy, and much more. You could spend hundreds buying the training it provides in the privacy of your home. And it enables introducing a novice to shooting handguns without having to fire live ammo.Might seem pricey, but it is well worth it. I attribute one-hole groups and the ability to shoot from the hip with a modicum of accuracy to practice with the LaserLyte.

Good Trainer
This is a very solid laser trainer. With other sound and vibration activated devices, the batteries run down constantly while not in use, but the addition of the on/off button to this device stops that. The device is small, and easily adjusts between calibers. I've used it without issue in a .380, a 9 mm, a .45 Colt, and a snub-nose revolver with a two-inch barrel. All work equally well.My only two complaints with the device are minimal. First, the nature of the device means that working the action of a gun triggers the laser, so it lights between shots when racking a semi auto, or when cocking a revolver. That's not a big issue, and I understand why it happens, but I use laser detection software to track my hits and this can lead to stray "rounds" being scored, particularly with revolvers. Second, I'd love to see something like this that encompassed more calibers, staring with rimfires. I own a Laserlyte bore site that fits .22 to .50, and uses a very similar adjustment mechanism. Why couldn't they do the same thing with this device?Overall, this is one of my favorite laser training device. It's more versatile and less prone to breakage than the types that insert into the chamber and are triggered by the firing pin, and it is more battery efficient than other vibration/sound activated units.

Great for Revolvers!
My original game plan was to buy 5 laser bullets for my S&W 640. After reading reviews saying that the laser bullets didn't always line up properly due to guns barrel alignment, I thought I was going to be out of luck. I stumbled onto this item and though a couple of reviews said it wasn't accurate, I gave it a shot. Not only did it save me $150 (5 laser bullets cost close to $200 or more), it fits the barrel perfect, I was able to get it to line up and shoot accurate, and so far, the reliability and battery life seem great. The batteries are cheap for this thing too (and it comes with 2 sets). I am sure the accuracy goes off more and more as the distance increases, but for snub nose revolvers, you are not sniping from 50 yards out. The adjustments on the device worked great in zeroing it in. I don't have any high tech gear to assure it is on target down to the millimeter, but when I align the sight and have a good trigger pull, it hits exactly where I am aiming. Awesome product!

Most high end light sprung pistols will NOT actuate this laser. No matter what u do.
I’ve had several, got mine during the Black Friday sale discount. At the discounted price knowing this particular laser has quirks it is worth buying. At the full price, I’d say it’s a pass. You could buy this and it not work and you would think it’s a faulty unit when the reality is a lot of high performance comp guns with light springs wont hit hard enough to activate this. That’s the reality. BUT this design will probably last longer than the bullet shaped ones. The bullet shaped dry fire lasers go bad quick, the only rubber grommet gets punctured eventually and once that happens it’s a matter of a few more hundred rounds and it will start to not work, also the bullet shaped ones tend to work when you use your finger or pen to depress the button but not once installed into the pistol, the bullets are slightly off from ones that do work, they look the same but they are not. I’ve only found 1 that worked more so than not. I’ve tried 3 other brands of less and similar cost and all 3 worked in hand but not once in the chamber.

Great Training aid and lots of fun
This was a generation upgrade. I had one of the 12 years ago, the improvements are spot on.These things translate directly to actually shooting provided you don’t let the live ammo pysch you out. I was breaking clay pigeons on a berm, “without aiming” anywhere up to 20 yrds. Used to shoot the bad guys for the cops on my TV screens. My wife would say “shoot that SOB in his nose”, and I would have to make the shot before the scene ended. Sometimes that goes pretty quick. We had good laughs and I shot better. I bought this one because she has picked up handguns now and I know it will make her a better shot. At the moment this thing will pay for itself in about 300-400 Rds, depending on the Ammo ammo you normally shoot. I wore my last one out in a year, I shot it a lot. This one seems made better, I am going to see if I can shoot it apart.
