Unexpected Gem
Since COVID, I have made the decision to train at home in my garage. Nothing fancy, but I did want to continue to squat, bench, and deadlift. Not really missing the gym much, but I did miss the Safety Squat Bar that I used to use. This was a purchase that is cheaper and takes up less space than an SSB, and I honestly didn't expect much. I am glad to say that this thing works GREAT! So far, I have had up to 365 lbs on the bar using this and felt very solid. Im not trying to set any world records, so for me, this is great.PROS:-Easy to use-Extremely sturdy-Doesnt take up any extra spaceCONS:-None yet. Have been using it now for 3 months, 1 - 2 times per week. Will update in 3 more months.

Well made but slips around on bar.
This product is very well made and I now have it in my workout permanently. I use it for squats and barbell calf raises in my home gym. It is really great to use but it has one flaw....it slips around on the bar.How ever I cut a small strip of carpet padding so It would not slip and the problem was solved. You can also use shelf liner or something similar.

Unstable!
I’ve had shoulder issues. So I gave up free bar squats for the smith machine as I can drop my arms after I get the weight centered on my back and unrack. I didn’t want to have to drag around a safety squat bar. I’m not just gonna leave something that expensive for other gym rats to abuse. Then I saw this thing and I was like, “All right, I can do free weight squats again.” Thing strap should just fit in my gym bag. Sweet! Then I used it, after I finally figured out the proper configuration for wrap the long part around the bar, then attaching the velcro straps around that. I got my arm straps adjusted like I like. Then I unracked the bar with only 135 (I squat 500 for reps) and I almost dropped the bar with the weights on the floor. The bar was all over my back and I couldn’t control it no matter how much I tried (and I’m a pretty strong guy). So I sent it back for a refund and went back to my smith machine squats. Very disappointed.

Looks used right out of the package
The product is what I ordered and is in good shape, but it appears to have wear and some discoloration presumably from being used.

Shoulder saver
I’m a personal trainer and I use this strap for my clients with shoulder issues that limits their ability to reach back to the bar for a squat. It’s pricey but still cheaper than a safety squat bar.Definitely recommended for anyone with shoulder mobility problems.

Good if you don’t have space.
Spud makes a durable product but this ssb strap doesn’t replace the ssb. It requires getting used to. It saves the shoulders but the bar isn’t stable with the straps. I used it 2-3 times and this is one of home gym equipment I regret buying. I should have got a solid ssb instead

Game Changer
I’ve had surgery on my shoulder and destroyed it during my time in the Corps. I thought my squatting days were over because my shoulder’s range of motion will not allow me to grip the bar appropriately. This setup creates great stability and is easy to setup. Literally just got this in the mail and slapped it on the bar 20 minutes prior to writing this review. If you’re on the fence about it, just hit purchase because you won’t be disappointed. Also, know that it will seem like it doesn’t get tight enough around the bar but that doesn’t matter because you’re pushing on the straps which secures the sleeve and bar perfectly.

Great - but more technical than the SSB bar
This is an excellent product. Would give five stars if there was a bit clearer introduction to the technique.Ultimately it does require a high bar setup for me, and likely a lot of other folks with larger scapulas. Since I usually squat with a pretty low bar, it's a bit of a journey to get the bar to stay.Once I get it on my fired up traps and delts, it's great but it can slide around if you're not completely braced for it; and if you get it too far up then the straps will then roll the bar into your spine which can suck (may or may not have had that happen)Ultimately solid product but it does need a lot more technical development than the classic SSB so be aware of that
