#math
Purchased for college, ended up becoming a tutor for stats and this book really helped me keep on track and was easy to understand.

Intro Stats and able to rent it too!
As stats go, it's a great text. Lots of real-life references to help understanding. Not ridiculously dry, as you'd expect a stats text to be. I love that Amazon has the option to rent texts at such a low cost over the semester, too!

Statistics Schmatistics
This book actually made this subject fairly understandable. I had just passed calculus 3 and was not wanting to take another math class for a bit, but had to. Thankfully this book gave real insight and relative material that today's generation can relate with.

The product delivered earlier than expected. :)
Kudos to the delivery because it's estimated arrival was Jan 8th. I ordered it Jan 6th, and voila! My package came Jan. 7th which is perfect timing because the earlier the better. Just to clarify, I have Amazon student account and it was free shipping for two-day delivery. Awesome job. :)The book looks new (although it wasn't wrapped by plastic) but I checked and I don't see any broken parts and I'm not overly picky when it comes to books. :) I will update on the content later on since I just started reading it.

MyLab was horrible.
My problem is less with the text than with the Pearson MyLab garbage that came with it. Basically busy work instructors hand out so they have *something* called "homework" to grade. I get the logistics of why many turn to this method, but its a serious pedagogical failing (but then actual instruction isn't the goal anymore - it's cramming as many asses into seats as possible, who cares if they learn!?). If you're taking a class on stats (or any subject matter), avoid any that insist on using Pearson's online trash and look for smaller ones (as they're less likely to rely on this scam).

Explains Concepts Well but Not How to Apply Them
The text does a good job of explaining WHY things are done the way they are. For example, why you should use the Normal Model for a uniform distribution but not for one that is not uniform. The problem is the examples they work out don't really go in to enough detail on how to actually work them out. The explanations are OK but could be a lot better.TL;DR Good explanations of concepts, not so great on actually showing how to APPLY what they teach.

Great textbook!
Seriously, I was not looking forward to stats because it's so hard to wrap your head around, and so dry. But this book explains very clearly, with plenty of examples, photos, colours, and organization. Plus a few jokes here and there keep you entertained! If I had to learn stats, I wouldn't want to do it with any other book!

Whoever had this before me was dirty
I rented a used version and it has some mysterious stains and markings. It looked like someone was eating BBQ and used the first page as a napkin. The book itself is seems like it is trying too hard to be a "hip" textbook for college students; it is written in a pretty informal way, which could be refreshing I suppose. One benefit of getting the used version was that the answers to some of the homework problems written in it.
