Works with Vespa 250ie GTV
Works as expected and advertised. Took me about an hour to assemble. I loaded our Vespa 250ie (333lbs wet) onto the rack on the back of our motorhome by carefully driving it up the ramp while standing beside. The only problem I had was the pins spinning when rear wheel with power applied trying to get the front wheel into the well on the passenger side. The reasons this steel carrier for the Vespa was selected after much research:1) Steel does not flex as much as aluminum2) Carrier more than handles the weight of the machine (333 lbs wet) at 600 lbs.3) Ramp was longer than some of the others allowing for easier loading (~60 inches), although I used the motor to "drive" it up while I stood on the ground.4) Carrier was longer than some others which allows the back of the scooter (where most the weight is located) to be closer to the center trailer hitch so the carrier will not twist as easily.5) Reviews showed it worked with other Vespa's and people liked it.Overall it gets the job done. I used these four racket style tiedown straps with the soft loop straps on the handle bars and rear luggage rack.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MY4VG66/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I padded with microfiber cloths and use some foam near the ladder. I did break off the front fender reflector on the ladder the first time I loaded.Hope this helps.

Worked great and very sturdy
I bought this rack to haul my KTM 500 EXC and it works really well. I bought a different tongue stabilizer and the entire unit was great, and no motion or noise. Worked better than I expected. It is probably overkill for my bike, but wanted to error on the overbuilt side. I added grip tape to the ramp so it didn’t skid. The only negative into me is the ramp is too short, at least on my truck. I needed someone to help me load it because of the steep angle. It is also heavy, but I expected that.I would definitely buy it again, and pleased so far.

Very good Scooter or Motorcycle Carrier..
This rack is worth every dollar you pay...just follow the instructions.. I'm a guy so as you know I didn't..It says leave the bolts loose..that means don't use any tools at that point.they are nylock nuts just handTighten.. They will be very wiggle kind of just hanging on...but that's how it has to be for it to all go togetherAs planned..you need the room to make it all fit together...and it does..I didn't have to do any drilling afterI loosened the bolts like they said to do in the first place...all these people that are saying that they had to re drillSome holes did not follow the rules....all they had to do was to back off the nylocks..Mine went together in less than a half hour..10 min backing off the bolts.. It's very sturdy and quality made...lI don't know about the rusting issue but I know where I can buy a can of Black Rustproof Spraypaint..I Find it a good buy that's worth the money.. I Would recommend!

Poor quality control resulting in a poor product.
The product is made in China and the quality control is very poor: I received the product with small dings/dents from shipping which I don't mind. I can bend/reshape and touch up the paint; after all, it is a very heavy item to ship. But I do mind the poor quality control such as poor welding job and a drill hole that missed the pre-marked location by 1 inch (how did it pass QC?) making it impossible to attach the ramp to the rack.I drilled another hole in the correct location but now the ramp is weakened b/c of the 2 holes (3/4 inch in diameter) 1 inch apart. The product itself seems very sturdy. It is rated for 600 lbs. However, because of the bad welding: the main hitch arm has a section that is not welded, I would not recommend to use it for anything over 300 lbs. Fortunately, my scooter is only 250 lbs, well below the 600 lbs rating so I believe I am OK.Amazon would ship a replacement, but the rack is close to 70 lbs and the packaging has the straps that need to be cut, so once opened, I would need to use a lot of packing tape to make the package ship-able again to return the bad one.Overall, I would not recommend this product because of the poor QC. For the exorbitant price, I expect better quality control.

Fort Lauderdale to Key West and back
Rode a total of 390 miles from Fort Lauderdale to Key West and back. I was able to mount and dismount by myself but I was extra careful and had all cables setup and ready to be hooked up. I tightened the anti-wobble screws and the ride was pretty smooth.Scooter that I mounted is a Vespa 300ie and weighs about 330lbs. When mounting i had to use accelarator and keep my hand on the break as a precaution.I paid someone to build the rack for $50 because I suck at handyman jobs. I can carry the rack by myself but its heavy. It took him about an hour to build.Soft loop tie down straps and highland 6' cambuckle are indispensable and work perfect with this scooter.I recommend watching the available YouTube videos that demonstrate how to mount and dismount with a single person.

Strong but damned heavy!
This thing is a beast of a carrier, and it's heavy as he'll, but it carries bikes with no issues whatsoever.Assembly wasn't too bad, took about 45 minutes with an impact gun. Installing it into the re ever is a bit of a pain, as it's heavy and slightly awkward to slide in.I did have to buy grip tape for the ramp though, I think it should be included as you'll never get the bike on ther if the ramp or tires are wet or muddy.Once the bike is on there, strap on down and go! Carried my 390 adventure a few hundred miles and it didn't budge. Nice touch, having included the receiver cinch down bracket! Tightened the 4 bolts between receiver and carrier and zero rattling or wobbling, with or without a bike on there!
