Great paper
Like this Canson paper a good bit. Other Canson papers have be just ho-hum for me. I first used Heritage in full-sheet form. I saw this pad and decided to give a go. I think for many watercolorist, Arches is almost the canonical paper by which all other papers are judged. If comparing the two, I would have to say that Heritage Rough is less "rough" than Arches cold press in my opinion, but keep in mind your milage may vary. It absorbs loads of water and takes paint well. I haven't attempted much scrubbing as the paper has a softer feel in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love the feel of this paper, it just different. I have used it to paint a variety of finished pieces and would recommend this paper and would it buy again.

Love this paper!
I'm a watercolorist and have tried lots of expensive, and cheap, papers. This one compares nicely with Arches on all points. It may be a tiny bit rougher, but I like texture in my work so it's not a problem. I'll continue to buy this brand.

Compares well with others
Works well for wet on wet, holds wetness, doesn't encourage cauliflowers.

Less Expensive Alternative
I still like Arches best, but this comes in a close second! The rough texture is nice and the paper holds up to a lot of wet on wet application. It’s nice that there is a high quality affordable cotton paper like this on the market. Highly recommended! A+++

Just as good as arches but way better price!
The canson heritage watercolor paper is my favorite watercolor paper out there. I have several different brands that I buy including arches, canson xl, fabiano studio, and legion stonehenge and the canson heritage is my favorite by far. Its affordable with quality that is up there with arches. If I were score them 0/10 I would give arches a 9.5/10 and canson heritage a 9/10. Arches is just slightly better in my opinion but when you consider the price difference, canson heritage wins by a lot! I buy the rough and cold press. I've yet to try the hot press but I dont do a lot of paintings on hot press paper. The canson heritage paper is an unbelievable value for the quality! I definitely recommend it!

Thick paper with a nice texture
I am in the process of trying different wc papers. This paper is thick and the texture is nice. I prefer this to the regular Canston and Strathmore papers that are readily available locally.

Incredible Vegan Alternative to Arches!
I love watercolor. I don't love that watercolor is not always vegan-friendly. I have spent lots of time looking for a satisfactory vegan alternative to Arches, and this is it! To me, there is not a distinguishable difference between the two. I am incredibly happy with this paper and have repurchased it several times.

Not what I expected
I use a variety of papers for my watercolor with arches being in the top spot. This pad was more $ and I wanted to try. Did not like the grain, didn't hold heavy washes. Will not buy again.
