Procare Universal Thumb-O-Prene

This ProCare thumb brace was more comfortable in fit than same brand I obtained earlier from physican's office. The bracing on thumb sleeve was not too tight (as earlier brace), and proper thumb positioning was always maintained and never sacrificed. I like this item ordered from Amazon, and plan to purchase another as backup to keep my car, etc. I have to believe that price at physician's was multiple times more than price paid from Amazon.

I would have to say it is a very good product. I needed it for my trigger thumb. I like that the support was down the middle of the thumb instead of the side as it kept my thumb from moving. The part that you slip your thumb in was not to tight. However I think because I have small hands it went right to the tip of my thumb and rubbed on the skin right above my nail. I would recommend this brace it had alot of good features a seemed to be very well made. I would have kept if for sure if not for that problem, it was just to long for my thumb. You won't be sorry if you have hands that are not small like mine. I think I cannot wear a "one size fits all" Otherwise a good support. Great around the wrist, the support however does not go past the base of the thumb, which was fine as I was not looking for strong wrist support.

Works great! Much more comfortable and versatile than other braces I've tried. It's very soft without tons of straps, so I don't scratch the kids when we're playing. It looks a little bulky on my tiny hand, but it fits well. Even though the thumb portion is not adjustable and feels loose, it still stabilizes my thumb better than other slimmer braces I have tried. The removable strap is perfect for keeping my thumb in a neutral position (for de quervain's tenosynovitis). I also love that the wrist strap provides lots of wrist support - I can strap it down looser or tighter depending on how much wrist support I need for different activities, and still get the great thumb support. I deducted one star because while the big velcro on the wrist is flexible and lies flat, the velcro on the thumb and removable strap are stiff and sharp around the edges. Super scratchy to sleep in! I just cut the thumb velcro off and haven't had any issues with the splint coming out, and don't sleep with the removable strap on. I tried four other braces for my sprained thumb, but either they didn't fit (too big in places and small in others), they rubbed and caused blisters in weird places, they cut off circulation, the velcro didn't work or was misplaced, or they didn't fully brace my thumb from moving/bending. This one did it all!Pros: Great fit and comfort. Braces all joints of the thumb (including the top) from vertical and lateral movement.Cons: None; I only wish I had bought it sooner.

This has the best thumb support of any brace that I have tried. My Orthopedic doctor gave me the Procare brace due to a tendon injury. When the brace lost support after many months of use, I was happy to find the same brace on Amazon. I have tried others, but they do not compare to how comfortable and well this brace performs.

Don’t buy if looking to fit like the one you may have received from your Dr. Silly me purchased 2 before realizing they couldn’t be returned. Here, I was thinking I waited too long for the 1st one. Which I needed because I missed placed the one give by my Dr. Of course I found it after receiving the 1st one…thinking back up. But it never fit as well. So, silly me ordered another one, thus when I found out I couldn’t return.Other reviews mentioned did fit like the one they got from their Dr. Yep, I have small hands..and I am a small old person. I talked to Procare customer service who suggested return and purchase from their website, but not through Amazon. I’ll think about it. They only work if they fit and these 2 don’t. Yep I put the new one thumb up against the original (Dr) and you can see the difference. Guessing manufacturing issue. Oh well…Hope it works out better for you.

So this product was given to me by my doctor and they wanted to pay 155.00 for it. I fould the same product on Amazon here for so much less. It's the same exact product and fits the same way as the one from my doctors office. I'm greatful to find this here for that amazing price.

Sturdy but not fit right. I am editing my review because these braces ended up being exactly what I needed.
