North Star: St. Herman of Alaska Hardcover – December 1, 2000

St Herman of Alaska, in thanks for Seraphim Rose for guiding me here.His stories are wonderful and this book really brings the emotion and everything into what he did and his connection to God.It’s laid out like a childrens book but I would recommend this to all my adult friends.Beautiful!

This book was beautifully written and illustrated. The story is for adults and children alike who simply want to know more about St. Herman. To be considered a saint, you have to perform at least one miracle I believe. And St. Herman stopped the crashing and angry waves by placing an icon of Mary in the sand. Of course, this made the waves then freeze in place. Very interesting...and spiritual.

This is a lovely book with beautiful illustrations. The story is well told and my range of kids (age 2-9) all enjoyed it. We plan on reading this each Christmas when we bake cookies because at one point in the story Father Herman brings cookies to people.

Great book which will be used with a church school class to teach the importance of God's holy ones. Highly recommended.

This is one of the favorite books for my 6 year old daughter. We've read it many times together. Well written and beautifully illustrated it tells the story of St Herman at just the right level for a child to understand without "dumbing it down" (like many other children books do).

This is a wonderful book for children and adults alike. Younger children may find it difficult to make it through the whole story. Older children and adults will love the beautiful (and colorful) illustrations. This book brings to life the life of St. Herman of Alaska.
