Another Excellent EFT Book From The EFT Quadrilogy
Like "Love Sense: The Revolutionary New Science of Romantic Relationships", it is mainly foucsed on EFCT throughout the book but in scholarly voice. It contains in-depth details of EFCT and EFCT process; how EFT therapists should be; some EFFT explanations. It also has EFCT case studies and DIY questions that help you to improve EFCT skills and clearly understand EFCT.Overall, it is an another excellent EFT book from the EFT quadrilogy as well as great learning material for those who want to study EFCT even further. However, I suggest you read "Attachment Theory in Practice: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with Individuals, Couples, and Families" first, as you need to be familiar with EFT and how does EFT works in order to fully understand EFCT.

Great content, cheaply constructed book
Honestly, Sue Johnson might be a genius. Had to get this book for my couples class in my MFT program and I am sold on EFT. However, the book seems to be cheaply produced, the first 10 pages of the book detached from the binding after reading the first couple chapters and some plastic covering on the front cover is peeling off the paper… never seen anything like it.

Extraordinarily Insightful!
Wow! I normally have to search hard for technically correct advice, especially on relationships and emotion. Not here! I learned an absurd amount, and there was important information on practically every page. There is no surprise, given that Sue Johnson is the world's leading expert on attachment theory and EFT. This book was written in 2020 so it is scientifically up to date. The author deconstructs the nature of adult attachment and implicitly explains the nature of emotion and behavior. Most of the valuable information is explicitly explained -- please understand how unusual this is! We are also walked through many couples therapy sessions (generally related to conflict) to see the concepts in action. Sue Johnson also walks the reader through the emotional significance of the couple's words and behavior, both for understanding what is both objectively and subjectively happening and how further growth is possible. I can not emphasize enough how instructive this book is! The tremendous value is amplified for people with Aspergers like me, explicitly teaching the nature of emotion is really helpful! I will have to revisit 'The Practice of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy' many times.

Brilliant and powerful
Johnson's attachment-based experiential/systemic integration is theoretically elegant and brilliant, and powerful in practice where it really counts. Plus this manual is full of examples highlighting every move and technique in clear, understandable ways. This one is a must read for every therapist!

A practical and inspiring guide for counsellors learning EFT
Love this book. Johnson is clear, practical and concise. Her writing is also inspiring and shifts between marco and micro conceptualizations with ease. The book offers everything a counsellor needs to know about beginning to practice EFT.
