Slim in 6: Tone It Up! Debbie Siebers' Slim Series DVD

Lost 15 pounds
I waited to review this product until I finished the 6-week training series. For someone approaching age 50, having packed on the menopausal weight, I found these DVDs exceptional. No, it's not like Turbo Jam/Fire or Insanity but it gets the job done if you do the program...especially if you're just starting out with an exercise routine, fallen off the wagon with a resounding thud (like moi) or at that time in your life when you're not too keen on having to see a Orthopedic surgeon because you've blown out your knee or strained your back, etc., (ditto moi again). Yes, I admit, they can become repetitious (same monologue, etc., day after day until you move through each phase from Start-Burn-Ramp) but like most people I can multi-task and turn the sound off and watch the video as I listen to the news or play my own favorite music. In fact, I used this program umpteen years ago (way, way back when there was such a thing as VHS format) while I was in the military to stay in shape (granted then I could do anything aerobic and maintain my weight). But the true test for me was how well they worked now--me being much older, less active and with a sluggish metabolism thanks to hormones shifting) and the proof was a 15-lb. loss with only slight dietary modifications (no starch/sugar). I've already begun the continuation videos to these to keep my progress headed in the right direction. Hopefully once I've completed those I'll branch out to other formats to keep myself engaged so I don't get stuck in a rut--translation: packing on the pounds again and feeling yucky about my appearance and underlying health.Bottom line: I'd recommend it if you're like me (age/fitness level) and want a nice workout that moves you to do more of it each day. Good luck!

A favorite!!
I had heard of Debbie through her Slim in 6 advertisements when I did other Beachbody programs but thought it would be too easy for me.I came across this DVD only a few years ago and bought it based on the great reviews.I absolutely loved it and went on to buy Tear it up and Shape it up and they are all fantastic!Unlike other Beachbody programs, these have no dread factor-I play my own music and I absolutely love how she includes fresh new excercises that I hadn’t seen before.I also love her personality and when I sent her a message on Facebook saying how much I loved the workouts, she responded right away.I highly recommend these!!!!!I plan to do Tone it up tomorrow!!

Debbie - I love you!
I've done The Firm, Jillian Michaels workouts, Slim in 6, and P90X. With the Slim Series, however, I am dramatically toning up. This DVD, Tone It Up, is definitely one of my faves. What I love about Tone It Up is that you don't have to watch the clock in this workout. Here's a tip: This is a weighted workout. Most of the time, you're doing upper body and lower body workouts at the same time using a 3-5 lb dumbbell. I'm no stranger to workouts. I tried to do the workout with 5 lbs my first week and I had to put them down and pick up some 2's. Definitely listen to your body and switch out your weights if you need to. And keep a pillow handy, so when you're ready to bite it or scream into it while you're doing the lower body leg series on the mat, you'll have it close by.I would definitely recommend Tone It Up and other Slim Series products. My advice, however, is to pace yourself. I'm not a veteran to working out by any means, but these workouts are definitely not for newbie exercisers! Go at your own pace, listen to your body. Push pause if you need to, especially for water in this workout since Debbie doesn't give an official "water break" in any of her workouts. Modify, modify, modify if you're feeling any pain. Enjoy!

Great workout!
The quality of the DVD is a bit unclear, guess it’s not a blue ray. Her workout is amazing, as always!!

Love, love this workout! 58 Minutes of full body
I have all of Debbie Siebers workout tapes. I started her Slim in 6 a little over 2 months ago. I had to keep ordering her tapes because I love her style. I am in my 50s and cannot do high impact aerobics anymore and Debbie uses low impact, resistance band, hand weights type workouts. I was pleasantly surprised at this DVD workout. You use hand weights almost the entire time but you double up on working both upper and lower body at the same time. My muscles were on fire when I was finished and I had sweat dripping down my back, but it was in a good way.Honestly, I used Tear It Up a few days ago for the first time and it kicked my behind! I am going to dread that one. I like this tape as well as Burn It Up (another 58 minute full body workout).

Great workout~
I have been buying the Debbie Seiber exercise DVDs one by one, and they are all excellent. This one I thought might be a little easier since it was only an hour, but nope....challenging like the rest. I consider myself intermediate/advanced, and as I was working out, I wondered what a beginner would think of this. If you are a beginner, don't give up. Go as far as you can, and next time you'll make it farther. An excellent workout, and if it ever gets too easy, I'll add more weight. Highly recommended both of her series.

Beachbody.com scams people
Their videos are pricy then they send you more stuff. You have 30 days to send back, but the label they give you must not have the right address because mine never made it back. They don't tell you on the phone that you have to send it delivery confirmation and so if you don't, they probably just put it in a pile to be resold and you are screwed! I had my return address on the package and I didn't get it back? Strange. Nice business practices. I will never buy from them again. There are plenty of good exercise videos at Wal-Mart for 1/3 of the price and the company doesn't screw the customer in the process.

This is a great workout. The only critique I would give is if you have the Slim in 6 series it is very similar, just add weights. That said it is nice to have a 4th workout to switch it up a bit.
