Personally i think American candy is freakin terrible, all sugar and artificial flavor
Very difficult not to eat the whole bag in one day. Personally i think American candy is freakin terrible, all sugar and artificial flavor. this candy has a balance of salty sweet licorice flavor and chewy texture that is so addictive!

Yummy traditional Dutch licorice
I purchased these as a Valentine's gift for my husband who loves Dutch black licorice. His family is from Delft and he spent many vacations there as a child and has a love for the Dutch variety. He absolutely LOVED these! They are a bit pricey, but that is to be expected for something being imported from Holland. While these won't be something we frequently purchase but for special occasions we certainly will purchase them again.

perfection
if you like licorice that is both sweet and salty I think you will love this candy which has an amazing texture and I can't stop eating it, I think this is a problem.

Unexpected texture, not for me!
I assumed these were like salty licorice cats--one consistency throughout. They are very different. They have a hard shell coating through out, no soft center, so they are more of a pastille than a chewy piece of licorice. They're salty. They taste of genuine black licorice. The texture is disgusting to me.

Soft and Sort Of Salty
Super soft, black licorice chews that proport a salt presence that never really materialized to where you go, "Yum! Salty too!" It was more, "Yum! Sort of salty...but not really." To some, nirvana. To me? Just shy of a 5-Star but I would never turn one away ;-)

Yummmm!
I was raised by a Swedish mom who got us started on Salmiak licorice as toddlers. Now at the age of 52, if I can find good, authentic, tasty licorice I'm thrilled. I first found these Rondos at a Global Foods store here in St. Louis, Missouri, but then they randomly stopped selling them. I've been craving these little balls of yumminess and am so glad I found them here! For the record, they are waaay at overpriced. If you've never had these, they are sweet black licorice hard shells with a light/medium salty-sweet soft licorice middle. So good!
