Phat strap for a comfortable jam - not just for bass guitars - works well on jazzboxes and archtops.
I bought this strap to use with an acoustic bass that is rather gargantuan,- A Tacoma 4 string, after a bit of adjustment it worked great. Then I bought an ovation 12 string roundback (very roundback this is a deep dish) I needed a strap to make this bad boy sit where I was, so I grabbed this strap off the bass and gave it a shot. After adjusting it for the difference in size it worked great. Now I'm buying another strap so I will have one on either guitar.(I usually keep a strap on all my guitars if the cases will allow it, sure beats taking them off and putting them on)This strap is very comfortable on an acoustic/electric guitar, probably more so than on a bass as it is supporting less weight. Due to the width of the strap it distributes the weight over a larger area, meaning less pressure on any specific area. This makes it very comfortable.I might change all my guitar straps from 2" to 3" now that I've had a taste of comfort. If you aren't comfortable playing, than you are distracted which removes you from the creative moment. This helps keep you in the moment and in the groove and it don't cost a fortune, plus it holds a pick or two.I like my phat strap just fine.Update 9/2016 - Planet waves was acquired by D'addario - current incarnation of this strap is different, perhaps better...1. no longer has the red and yellow logos on the strap, now all black.2. they have increased the length of the built in pad by at least 100% making it much more likely it will provide supportwhere you need it even if you slide your guitar around while playing.3. leather is a natural material and varies alot, so this may only apply to my strap, but the leather seemed tougherand harder, which makes getting the strap on a little more difficult, but also means its not likely to fall off once its on, it stays there.4. it has 2 adjustment buckles - making it easier to change the strap length but still keep the padded strap where you need it.Its still a very nice strap, and I use it on all my large hollow body/semi hollow body archtop guitars, because they are heavier than most of my other guitars, and it makes it easy to control them and makes it comfortable to play them. So not just for bass guitars, works well on any heavy guitar, you could use it on a light guitar if you like the look and feel. I now own 4 of these straps and have been quite satisifed with them, although only my latest purchase in 9/16 was of the newest model with the longer pad.

Best strap for guitarists (not just BASS)
I love that this strap is padded and 3 inches thick. It's also very long, which is great for me because I'm a tall guy with a long torso. I like to wear my guitar low and feel comfortable. I will probably be getting this strap for all of my guitars because it's great for touring and playing on stage for hours at a time. Probably the most comfortable strap I've got.

Comfortable
This wide, padded strap is comfortable, adjustable, and sturdy enough. The padding inside the strap can move around, losing its place, but it does stay in place while playing.

So nice, I bought it twice...sorta!
This actual product is one I own and love. It is secure and comfortable. Discreet in black.Funny story, however; The item shipped on this current order by Amazon Warehouse was not the item in the description. Truth be known, over a year ago I tried to order the pictured item I just received today, but I got the 3” cushioned bass strap instead. I liked it so much, I never bothered to mention it, even tried to order another one. I couldn’t get over the irony. I ordered one and received the other. Then the reverse happened over a year later. Whether D’addario swapped labels or Amazon, I dont know, but “Hey Amazon, I found the mistake!” God wanted to keep me honest, I guess.

Great strap but,
Well constructed. Don't like the double buckle adjustment setup. Always like the adjustment in the back personally.Necessary for the "padded" area to ride properly apparently. Why the 4* comfort rateActually more comfortable with the padding moved to the back and just the flat, wide strap on me. Seems for better 'feel'.Use old Peavy satin 3" since the 80's but Their long gone or 100.00 on ebay. Still the best strap ever.Unless you're a Page fan and want your ax at the knees, will work fine with any electric or you're 7' tall.

My guitarist’s favorite strap
My guitarist owns several of these. He loves the padded strap for comfort on his shoulder. Especially when playing heavier guitars like Les Pauls.

Digs into collarbone/shoulder
While a good value for money, and wide, this digs into my collarbone/neck, more so when sitting, slightly less when standing. Can't return it as i tossed the packaging so I'll probably just sell it for a few bucks.I ended up having to replace it with a thick leather strap for my basses.I did find it more comfortable if i wore a hoody (then I'm sweating while playing), or put some type of pad between it and where it contacts neck. Can't recommend. Might be okay for guitars which don't tend to weigh as much as a bass, for shorter periods.

A Solid, Inexpensive Strap
I came across this strap when looking for something inexpensive, 3" wide, and padded and I am happy with the result. While it would be nice if it could adjust a little longer for those times I want to sling my bass really low, I would definitely recommend this strap in the future.
