It won't burn down your house, nor will it roast your beans
The FreshRoast SR540 is serviceable. Meaning, if you were on a deserted island and all you had were green coffee beans and this roaster and electricity it would work. The issue is trying to get all your beans to a consistent roast level. Attempting a dark roast, you'll get about 30% dark and 30% barely roasted, even if you reduce the amount of beans you try to roast significantly. It simply doesn't stir the beans well enough to give you a consistent cooking level. My advice is to not spend a single dollar on these units and go for anything that can handle 250g or more and actually physically stirs the beans.
