Glitch in it after going thru airport security. Had to dump memory and reset. Now I have them hand check it thru. Other than that nice!

Mine sat in a drawer for 10 years, little used. Then the battery went down. I replaced it myself but it still didn't work.

It has been twelve years that I have this and still it has not ran out of battery. I have it behind my xray unit. Every time I shoot an xray I see for higher power loads such as chest, environment gets lit by about 4 times more than background. Then I tank my suit and neck guard. It shows serevet unit which is not rad but you can change units. It's price has doubled since I bought it. It is a good unit.

* NOTE: Always keep it in a zip lock bag lest it become contaminated. You probably will not need to measure Alpha/Beta, so the bag won't count. Unit runs and records data continuously with no on/off switch! The battery in mine lasted 15 years !!! Replace battery by soldering a new one into the circuit board (assuming humanity is still be around when it dies). The unit measures (calculates) "Effective Dose", NOT "Equivalent Dose" as stated in the crappy manual. LCD screen is sadly weak and jittery. After using it for a while ... and even though it looks like a toy ... you will learn appreciate its German engineering as it is VASTLY SUPERIOR to everything else !!! I wish it displayed (and "clicked") CPM simultaneously, but it doesn't.
