Compare socket organizer vs. locking socket rack
Last week while changing the brake pads on my sons car iI did it again! Dropped all my sockets. Under the car, under the tool box... you get the idea. I needed the remedy. So I bought two of these socket organizers as well as two of the locking socket racks. These have a magnetic base to hold the sockets in place. while the other type has socket bases sticking up to hold and lock the sockets in place. Both have magnetic bases to stick the set to metal surfaces. These racks tidy up my personal sockets and fit both SAE and metric.A magnetic back allows you to arrange your set in any convenient or awkward place. On your box, in the cars engine cabinet, on the AC vents, anywhere. And with the locking feature, individual sockets don't fall off.--The good part of these holders is that they will hold 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch sockets. The other type only holds one size socket. So, one holder for each size which could be twice as expensive.-- The locking socket racks allows the sockets to lock into place on the holder so if they fall over they stay in place. There is a picture of the rack on my tool box attached. A big advantage in my opinion. With both types you don't leave sockets behind because you can see exactly what is missing. 100 % set hassle- free.If you are sick and tired of socket catastrophes, want to some structure to the usual mess and find that the plastic housing don't cut it, than the is the thing that you've been trying to find. So ,they each have pluses and minuses but I'd choose the locking racks because the sockets stay in place even if the rack falls over.Hope you find this helpful.

The go anywhere socket organizer
I really liked my old socket holders which were marked for sizes and fit a lot. the only issue was fitting the socket back on the peg. This holder I now bring to my work area, rather than go back and forth between the work area and my toolchest.. Fortunately, I have a lift in my garage and I bring the magnetic holder and hang it from the railing, sometimes upside down. Gives me quicker access particularly when I am constantly switching out sockets. What would make it better if they included sticky labels for either SAE or Metric sizes so I know which goes where and can quickly tell which is the one I need. I also find I don't misplace sockets as often since I am more prone to put them back into the holder when used. Now I need a second one for my SAE sockets. Wished they made a smaller one for 1/4 inch sockets as well.

Every Tool Box Needs One
A "must-have" to organize the Diver Bits most of us have laying about in our tool box. Well built, with a strong magnetic base that keeps it in place most anywhere you stick it. Highly recommended!

Great for quick bit access, may have limits in some use scenarios.
Works well for quick access for easy frequent bit changes. But this ease of pulling bits from the holder comes at the expense of secure holding. The holes for the bits are slightly oversize to allow easy removal, and for 1" long bits it's fine. But for 2" or longer bits, it does allow a lot of wobble in the them, especially nut driver bits that are naturally top heavy. And although there are small neodymium magnets in the base that firmly attach the holder to metal surfaces, the same cannot be said for the magnet holding in the bits. The weaker "sheet" magnet holding the bits in has both benefits and concerns. The weakness allows even short 1" bits to be removed easily when grabbed by the tip. But it seems to just barely be sufficient to hold the bits in. The holder can be turned upside down and the bits do not fall out. But give it a slight bump and they will fall out. Most of the time the magnets should be sufficient to hold the bits in, but I fully expect all the bits to go flying if I were to drop the fully loaded organizer. The center hole is also oversized, I am assuming to fit a bit holder. But personally I would have preferred that the pattern and size of the other holes continue uninterrupted.Overall, I do like the organizer and only mention the shortcomings so others can have the information to judge if it will fit their needs. Personally I would like to see a larger organizer that would hold a huge assortment of bits. And if the bit magnet was stronger so it could mount upside down in the lid of the toolbox without the bits coming out as the lid dropped shut, it would be perfect.
