A business / SOHO access point of exceptional value and performance.
Bought this wireless access point (AP) to replace my existing 802.11an AP which was no longer providing sufficient link speed when connected newer IT devices. The LACAP1750 certainly sets the bar very high when it comes to configuration ease and feature load for this price point. For starters, the AP offers full 802.3at PoE option to power the device up without additional power cabling, simplifying deployment greatly. Gone are the days of pulling another set of 110/230Vac up to the ceiling to power the wireless AP.Users who are currently using the Linksys LRT214/224 will be right at home with the configuration menus. It is also not that much different from the traditional WRT54G hence the learning curve is minimal.Feature load of the wireless AP is impressive. You can have multiple SSIDs each directing to a different VLAN for privacy and security control, local DHCP for users who do not run such a massive network to captive portals redirection for users integrating this AP into their cafes or shops for controlled public access. I have not been able to find an area which Linksys have yet to cover in this product.Range is exceptional, which is what you will expect from an AC1750 access point. I live on the 3rd apartment and I can still pick up my wireless signal from an adjacent block while maintaining around 100+ Mbps connection speed. Impressive. Do note that 5GHz band gives you more bandwidth however will penetrate less amount of wall when compared to 2.4GHz. This is a simultaneous dual band AP, use both bands to your advantage.Overall, a very impressive AP (as expected) with features and credentials well above its price point.

Ridiculously fast! Better than similarly priced consumer gear!
Ridiculously fast. Just realized how crappy consumer stuff are. Way to go, business access points! Honestly, you could just buy a cheapo router (as bad as 802.11n or anything like that) then buy one/two of these, you'll totally enjoy it! I bought two of them, though I didn't know how to setup WDS, so I just went ahead and configured them with the same SSID, authentication and channel. Working flawlessly. :D Fabulous product. It was originally a tough decision between this and the UBIQUITI UAP-AC-PRO, but after finding out it UBIQUITI's newer model (the circle) didn't support wireless roaming and didn't directly supported IP-based web management, I immediately headed for this. Turns out I made the right choice.

it is a terrible BELKIN product. DO NOT PURCHASE!
revised review: purchased in july, as of mid september the unit is not taking a configuration other than the default one. i've factory reset this device about 20 times according to their "manual" and i can get to the web ui and see the factory config. as soon as i modify a setting, the AP goes "dark" and stops responding to ICMP. i also lose the device in the ARP table when this happens.there are no updates for this device, you will buy this and it may work fine for some time, but eventually it will time bomb. i saw the bad reviews and passed them off as bad equipment but now i got bit.i've worked in enterprise wireless networks for very large fulfillment centers (500+ WAPs) and can say without a doubt that this is absolute junk.apparently LINKSYS was sold to BELKIN...BELKIN COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF LINKSYSPlaya Vista, Calif. - March 15, 2013 – Belkin today announced the completion of its acquisition of Linksys. Linksys’ technologies, including its routers and the popular and innovative Smart Wi-Fi portfolio and services, will be managed and maintained as a separate brand and product portfolio.this is no longer a cisco/linksys product... it is a terrible BELKIN product. DO NOT PURCHASE!

Doesnt act completely like a "mesh Network" but is similar
bought 4, set up had some challenges, guest network requires setting up of Vlan settings which adds complications and forced a special router purchase as well as a Special Managed 24 port switch to insure Guest network users dont have access to the internal network Wireless speeds are inconsistent. Doesnt act completely like a "mesh Network" but is similar. Setting up of Master was easy, and other 3 required no configuration since they were auto figured as slaves (that was a good thing).Support when I got them on phone was good. Chat support is a hassle, I recommend you force phone support unless you want to pay someone $2000 to $3000 to set it up. Small business class needs mandate downtime on weekends whereas Linksys small business support is not available on weekends.

When they work
This is our 4th unit. When this units work they are great. When they do not they are hit and miss and can be a pain to get to the bottom of why they are not working. This last unit setup and worked perfectly how ever so 4 stars for that. The units before had been refurbished so that was our fault. You get what you pay for it seems with these units. Buy new and be happy.

Simple but weak performance
The access point was simple to install and easy to use. Performance was poor for a device of this caliber. I got really inconsistent speeds and signal was bad even from 12 ft away. The unit comes with a 12v adapter but I would have preferred it come with a PoE adapter. Overall I wouldn't recommend this product.
