Hayward SP0714T VariFlo Top-Mount Multiport Valve, Black

Our Hayward pump was struggling and had an expert come and diagnose the issue, and it all stemmed from the valve on the pump was bad, o rings were deteriorated, water loss, etc. Replaced the valve and everything is working perfectly! No more water loss, high pressure from the pump, circulating as it should. Don’t go with a knock off or something comparable.. the extra $35 was worth it.

I have no problems with hayward products the assemble excellent. But they should put the grease in the box for the o ring just luckily I had some of my own.

This worked as a great, OEM replacement for my Hayward B-244T sand filter.BEWARE - You may need to purchase 1.5" PVC pipe and fittings, and set aside a little time to replumb the connections. It was my experience that this multiport valve fit on the sand filter perfectly, but the inlet from the pool (suction side) was in a different location and required some rework.I've also seen some reviews cautioning against over-tightening the connections to the multiport valves, but I had the opposite experience. Even after tightening well, and using a good deal of teflon tape, I ended up having a small drip leak that I had to fix, but now I have a watertight seal.This unit operates very smoothly (as expected) and comes with a new gasket to seal between the multiport valve and sand filter assembly. Make sure to lubricate it with pool lubricant (not petroleum based) so that it will last.It also comes with a pressure gauge (with teflon tape already applied) that you simply screw in, couldn't be easier. Also comes with a plug if you don't want the pressure gauge. My sight glass was also not airtight from the box, but you screw that in the same as the pressure gauge.Our old multiport valve had cracks in the assembly driving a water leak - they're fully resolved with this new unit.

The Variflo valve is easy to install and works as advertised. After over a year of use, I see no flaws.

This replaced my old Hayward VariFlo valve. It is an exact replacement and works as expected. It should be noted that the new valve comes with a new clamp and gasket for attaching it to the sand filter. The description should tell you this and picture the clamp and gasket, but it does not. I ordered the clamp and gasket, as the Amazon site stated that these items were frequently purchased together. I have returned the extra clamp and gasket as they were, as I found, provided in the box with the new valve.

Works great same product as your local pool supply but, a lot less expensive, 3 years in operation no issues
