Ilex X meserveae 'Honey Maid' (Varigated Holly) Evergreen, yellow & blue/green varigated foliage, 2 - Size Container

Planted 5 of these at the end of March in an area that used to have pine trees (fell down in storm). Nice tree/bushes that have held up well so far. Berries have fallen off, hopefully will return.

Arrived in good shape and since it was planted a few seeks ago, berries have reddened. A good start, but there is a long hot summer ahead and it well need watering in the first year or two and perhaps now every year.

The plant is doing very well! I didn't know until after I got it that this is a female and that one must have a male nearby in order to get the beautiful red berries that the birds love to eat. I ordered a Southern Gentleman, the male counterpart to the Winterberry, that is also doing well and am hoping for the best!

My Blue Prince and Blue Princess plants, size 3, arrived in robust good health in spite of obvious not so gentle treatment by UPS. Compared with similar hollies in the same size pots that just appeared at a local big box store, the Amazon plants are far larger and far healthier. The Amazon plants are also cheaper. I’ll be buying more.

Received a Winter Red winterberry in a #3 container. Taller than expected, which was a plus. However, roots were somewhat pot bound on this, most likely due to the extra time in the pot. After googling, ended up shaving an inch off the sides and bottom to ensure long-term health. Overall happy with the shrub.
