Simply the best vacuum I have ever owned
This is going to be a little long winded but I am going to tell the story anyway. 15 plus years ago we received a kenmore vacuum cleaner. I think this might have been the Mac Daddy of vacuum cleaners back in the day. It has been an amazing vacuum and I just love this thing. It still runs perfect but has had a few modifications to keep her going. The power cord has been replaced 3 times and the power switch is modified out of an old hoover. The light has not worked in years and it looks horrible but it just keeps on going. We were very bummed out to see that kenmore dropped this unit and were assured the replacement would be even better. Long story short the new one was horrible. It was extremely heavy, the dirt sensor would constantly get dirty, and it just didn't perform as well. The new one met its maker and we reverted back to our 15 year old trusty steed. I was researching kenmore vacuums again in hopes that this model had somehow made a comeback. In that search I noticed an article that said kenmore vacuums were just rebadged Panasonic vacuums. You have no idea how elated I was to see that Panasonic still makes this model. A few things are different but its the same vacuum from 15 years ago with these minor exceptions. My old kenmore had a manual carpet height adjustment. I actually liked that feature better than the auto adjust. The auto adjust doesn't seem to drop as low in short carpets like my throw rugs but wokrs perfect on the rest of them. The new vacuum has a plastic handle mounted to a steel bar which I prefer, the ergonomics seem better. The old one was a grooved rubber sleeve that went over the metal bar. The last difference was the old kenmore had an access cover that allows you to open and remove any larger debris that didn't quite make it to the bag. I didn't use that feature alot but it did come in handy on some occasions. The new vacuum will require removing the bag and fishing out any stuck debris because it does not have that feature. With all that being said I am just pumped to have an almost identical replacement to the vacuum that I just love. This thing sucks like crazy. It is a well built vacuum and is still lightweight. I love the flexibility of the hose, it is by far the stretchiest, longest lasting hose I have ever used. I use the hose all the time and it still works perfect. The complaints about the hose falling off are true. It does happen from time to time but there are a few things you can do to minimize this from happening. Remember I said the hose is really flexible? Position the hose so there is none or very little tension on that connection. The other is to press the hose connection firmly into place. Don't just set it on there but give it a good firm push. I rarely have the hose come off any more. In my opinion this is the best sub 100 dollar vacuum money can buy. I love this thing. For comparison the green vacuum on the left is my new Panasonic and the blue one on the right is my 15 year old "Kenmore"

The best upright vacuum for the money
Excellent vacuum. I initially ordered one for my father. He had a bagless vacuum by a different brand. And with two cats he rarely ever cleaned let alone dumped the bin. Which as you know is not only bad for your health environment, but also that wears out the motor on the vacuum itself. I had tried cleaning his carpet. It was at the point you would vacuum and literally what you'd vacuum would end up spitted out across the room plus blown on the outside. I took it to the recycle and thought that's it , I'm looking for a bagged one after the carpets get professionally cleaned. There aren't a lot of bagged ones on the market these days. I hopped on Amazon and looked through a half dozen vacuums. Based on the good reviews here, I ordered one. My mother abducted the vacuum and liked it better than her Dyson. Eventually, I had to order one for her as well. He finally got his vacuum after I bought her one. He loves it! And now does vacuum his carpets now. Even his cats sniff the vacuum in approval. They don't like living in dirty areas you know, despite people mistakingly believing so. Mom equally is crazy for hers. Now the vacuum itself my opinion. It works great. It blows zero dust on the outside of the vacuum. It's not a hepa but you won't find that an issue after using it. It's very lightweight, compared with some bagless vacuums on the market. Has a front light. A very long cord.Self-adjusting brush beater bar, and the brushes are somewhat soft. It fluffs up the carpet. The bristles are a bit softer so they don't seam to mow your carpet. I don't know if anyone out there has noticed but I find some vacuums seem to shear off the top of your carpet. This one does not. Now, cons. The brush roller bar does not turn off. That can be an issue if you have hard woods. This one is strictly for carpet. I'd buy something separate for hardwood floors. Also, I would like to find some additional vacuum attachments that fit this. It comes with two extension wands, one dusting brush and a crevice tool.So far my mom has reused her attachments from her Dyson and they seem to fit the extension wands. It will initially smell on the first few uses. That does go away . It came fitted with a U-6 electrostatic bag. I ordered additional vacuum bags that match that from Amazon. I recommend buying the Panasonic bags. While they may seem expensive, these bags take a long time to fill up unlike bagless vacuum bins. Trash bags cost more when you add it up for those instead of just buying these. It's a no frills vacuum. But I think you'll be very pleased with your purchase of this. My family approves as well as me. All around it's a great value and excellent vacuum. I highly recommend this.

For the price I paid you cannot do better anywhere. As usual from Amazon
My last Panasonic vacuum lasted 17 years. The new one works well. It is a basic vacuum. But there are improvements. The motor is stronger and the cord is longer so you do not have to keep unplugging it as you move about the house. For the price I paid you cannot do better anywhere. As usual from Amazon, the item arrived quickly. No complaints.
