Eye relief lessens with a hand gun as you increase zoom.
First off, this is an excellent scope for 350 to 400 dollars. On par in my opinion with 600 dollar scopes. I put it on a S&W 22LR Victory pistol with an upgraded trigger and two lb. trigger pull. Why a scope? Plenty of other no joke 22's with iron sights and one with a red dot. So why not?I'm 6 feet and at 2 or 3 power I could extend my arms fully and the eye relief was just fine. From 4 to 7 power I had to bring the pistol in closer and closer. That is par for the course. Using it on a 22 I have no personal experience on durability with high powered cartridges. But the reviews I've read say that isn't an issue even above 44 mag.But low power handguns can sometimes expose another issue. Do the cross hairs adjust with just a click? When sighting in the the pistol I was a little dubious. The grouping didn't change as much as I expected with x amount of clicks. And I had read the instructions. So I started tapping the scope lightly with a tiny mallet after each adjustment. Was the mallet necessary? Can't really tell you. But the pistol now at 40 yards is shooting a 1 to 1.5 inch group dead square in the middle with inexpensive ammo. I am really happy I bought this scope. The Burris medium height rings I bought with it are also top notch in my opinion for my needs.

Good Scout Scope, Too
I have this mounted on the forward "scout" mount of a M1A SOCOM 16. It works well there, seems solid, and is not affected by heat, at least at the rate at which I shoot. With a cheek riser, I am able to get a good solid cheek weld, and the rifle comes up to the cheek with the scope exactly inline with my eye.The scope does not lose zero from the recoil of the M1A. At 2x, there is an excess of eye relief. At 7x, there is just barely enough, but because the cheek riser puts my eye right in line with the scope, it is not nearly as noticeable as it might be. The scope does not in any way interfere with ejection, or operation of the gun. It is not especially large or heavy, (for what one expects from a rifle scope), either.

eye relief problems.
On a high powered hunting handgun I hold my arms extended. In that position 2-3 power is fine. 4 power is usable 5-6 power is not usable, unless I move it closer to my eye. They should get the eye relief adjusted another foot out. Good scope that could be a great scope if it was focused further out.

Broke already
I was on round number 22 and the reticle twisted probably 5 degrees and it looks like there is fluid coming out of the front lens.
