THE DYSON DC65 ONCE AGAIN AND STILL THE BEST

After 7 years of daily (yes daily) use with not a single trip to the repair shop, my Dyson DC 25 was finally showing signs of wearing down by becoming noisy and loosing some suction. So, I started to look around to maybe find a lower cost replacement; and I did a lot of research and tried some other machines. After all that this is what I have to say.I have only four criteria that are VERY important to me. The vacuum first of all must have killer suction, its primary role, after all, is to suck up dirt, pet hair, and whatever else finds it way onto my carpets and hard floors. Next, the machine cannot be to heavy; I'm seventy three now and not as strong as I used to be. Then it must be easy to steer in and around the entire house, for the same reason, and it must have a cord log enough that I can do the entire area daily without having to mess with the plug. In other words it has to do its job without damaging me.THE DC 65 MEETS ALL THE ABOVE CRITERIA EVEN BETTER THAN MY PRIOR DYSON.Obviously there are other important considerations such as durability, ease of cleaning filters, reasonably quiet operation,and the ability to get parts when I abuse the machine and I need to replace something; my past experience has taught me that all things break mostly when I abuse them.Now just a few other comments:Easy to assemble,Quieter than I expected.The extension wand is more workable with great suction,,Once again the canister is easy to empty (in the garage, not inside)The transition between carpet and hard floors is even better than before,In every respect a better machine than even the great DC 25,Ad the 5 year warranty again, and it makes this the best vacuums on the market,Remember, you don't get high quality and great function without paying the price.

Good vacuum.

This vacuum is probably the best one I have ever had. Very strong suction, easy to use. It has an extremely long cord, a great feature. I was surprised that the whole thing is made of plastic considering the price. I guess it has to be that way to keep the weight down. I bought it originally to vacuum a very tall staircase with dark carpeting and it's not the greatest for that. The extendable hose is hard to keep extended because the suction keeps sucking it back to the vacuum, so I end up carrying it up every 5 or 6 steps.I was a little disappointed that it only comes with 2 simple attachments, not very useful. Having said all that, to vacuum carpeting or hardwood, it works great and the dust canister is very easy to remove and clean.
