Is this suitable for a home office/bedroom (10W x 12L x 8H) or should i look at a smaller system?Is audio clear when primarily played at low volumes?

This system is perfect for any volume, mine is in a room about the same size as yours and at low volumes can fill the room but wont penetrate through walls so people wont get annoyed. However the speaker boxes are pretty big roughly 10" per box so you would need a proper place to put them.

No. The speakers are in a pressed particle wood cabinet and speaker wires come out the back (connected inside cabinet already) and are connected to head by special small adapters. The speaker wire is only 3 feet long at most. And it's not like you can wire it yourself with the special adapter inputs on back of head. So both speakers and sub woofer have to be relatively close to head.

Does it have a carrying handle at top so it can be easily carried?

No not at all if I could I would refund it because you can't hook it up to anything other then the sound it sucks
