Philips Norelco Shaver 6900, S6810/82, Series 6000, Black

In terms of electric razors, everybody's skin & beard is different, so YMMV. But for me it works fantastic!First a little history. I originally shaved with a razor blade. I found I had very sensitive skin and could not shave every day, even though I needed to (i.e. I looked like a bum all the time). So I finally decided to give an electric a try. My older brother had used a Braun so I bought a Braun 7526 and used it for twenty years (and I replaced the cutter and foil each year). It worked well and was easy to clean. But it had a few drawbacks, biggest being it was LOOOOOUD!!! Seriously you can't hear anything while using it. The other drawback was it never cut as close as a blade.When I finally decided to give Norelco a try I did some research. Long story short: Don't get a cheap one (junk) but don't get an expensive one either (self-cleaning stations are a waste of money). I found this model to be a sweet spot in price vs value.I can't praise it enough! It is whisper quiet! It's also very lightweight, easy to clean, comes with a charging stand (important!), and most of all, for me anyway, it really does shave as close as a blade! Right off the bat! The manual says your beard may need a 'getting used to it' period of two or three weeks but it shaved perfectly the very first time I used it, and did NOT bother my sensitive skin. Your face may not quite 'look' as close as with a blade shave, but it definitely feels as close.And don't listen to past Norelco users' complaints about cleaning it. It's easy. The razor cage pops right off and can be rinsed with water. Every so often take the individual rotors apart (one at a time, keep each rotor's parts separate) and clean them individually. I find all trimmer attachments to be useless so I never bothered trying its.As I said initially everyone's face is different. But I would highly recommend this shaver!

I have been using electric shavers for 30 years. I have tried every variety. Also because I am in the vine program I get to upgrade frequently. This one is the best I have ever owned. It is light, ergonomic, quiet and charge lasts forever. After 3 weeks it is still on full charge. The most important feature for me are:1. Comfort - this is far and away the most comfortable shave I have had. Even old Norelco shavers left my neck raw and red. After shaving with this is like nothing even touched my skin. Amazing.2. Excellent shave - This offers the closest shave I have had with an electric to date.3. EASY cleaning - all my old shavers would require work to dig out lint and hair. This is pop-it-open and rinse easy. Totally clean every time. Fantastic redesign.4. Interchangeable trimmer head. Easily the best trimmer/razor combination I have owned. Literally don't need my trimmer any more.The negative reviews are complaining about not having a cloth bag to carry it in? or the charger? I don't see that requiring a 1-star review. Those reviews seem needlessly punitive. The charger seems fine. It's the usual docking upright affair. This is a great shaver and I have no regrets about this purchase. I've tried three different electric razors recently and this one had by far the best shave with the least skin irritation to my face. It works great on my face but I gave up trying to shave my head with it. For that the shave wasn't close at all. So I gave up and decided to let my balding head hair grow back out. I tried it both wet and dry on my head but no joy. On my face it works best dry. I am amazed at how little irritation there is to my face as I've tried many electric razors in the past and never found any of them satisfactory till this one. Great shave. Circular blades throw tiny pieces of hair into your eyes.

Over 2 years using this with ZERO ISSUES.BATTERY LAST FOREVER.If you clean the blades once a week it will shave close.I HIGHLY suggest buying Andis Cool Care Plus Spray to use with this daily. Just spray in to the circular shaver head before each use.It lubricates the blades to move better on your skin.That's the only thing I use with this shaver.Great purchase.

I was always a shaving cream and razor guy, Military then Dollar Shave Club. On advice from my buddy I bought the Philips Norelco Shaver 6900. Best thing I've done in a long time. Great close shave, I save money on blades and when I need a quick shave I am out the door. Don't get me wrong, nothings better than a razor but this is as close as it gets, bought it in June of 2021 and no problems. Buy it you'll love it. Buy the way the one thing I don't get with the Philips Norelco Shaver 6900 is blood & styptic pencil, don't miss the accidental nicks.

This shaver works nicely, is easy to hold, and it seems to hold a charge for a long time. I kind of wish there was included a plastic cover that snaps over the shaver head like my older one had, protects the little round shaver blade elements if you casually drop it in a drawer, I’m not going to put it in its travel case after every day use. Close, comfortable shave though.
