Patriot PAT12, 2000 watt, 12', Base Station CB Radio Antenna

Very well built. I was impressed by the simplicity and high quality construction. Almost exactly like the old Shakespeare “Big Stick” fiberglass antenna from the late 70s/early 80s. The tuning rings are easy and effective. Had an excellent SWR reading right out of the box. Exceptional reception and great for shooting skip. Highly recommended!

Bought the PAT-12, 12 footer just for local CB talk. Works great for that. It's no A-99, but it still gets me 10 miles with S9 or better signals. Instruction manual slightly confusing in regards to parts package. Seems Procom adds more hardware than required. A quick call to their 800 number cleared it right up. Turns out their info tech is an old CB pal and we got into the antenna usage and mounting much more deeply than expected. Many tips and tricks revealed regarding coax lenght and type the antenna prefers. Who knew? Thanks Procom for the A-1 customer service and fine base model antenna.

I saw the one star reviews before I bought this antenna. They all said the same thing; that the SWR's could not be adjusted below 4 to 1. I wrongfully assumed that they just didn't know how to set up their system or adjust the SWR's properly. This was my 3rd base station setup and I have been using CB radios since the 70s. Not my first rodeo. I used brand new RG8x coax and silver plated PL259 connectors. Put an 8 foot copper rod in the ground for my ground plane and mounted the antenna on a 10' post on my elevated back porch.The SWR's were over 4 to 1 across the board. From channel 1 to 40 there was no difference. I wanted to make sure my installation was good so I C-clamped the Firestik off of my pickup truck onto the mast my antenna was connected to (see photo). My SWR's were 1.2 to 1.5 to 1 (channels 1 to 40) with no adjustment at all.It is a darn shame that this is the best an American company can do. China could do better. Big mistake if you buy this antenna.

This is a nice little antenna for new users or ppl who want to use a portable antenna that can be transported to somewhat remote locations. It has a decent price-point if you're just getting started in 10/11m as a hobby. I bought one for my son and upgraded to a used Antron99 within 3 months. Nothing to do with the PAT12 being substandard, it just didn't transmit very far from our location. We run barefoot (4w) and live in a hilly rural area. I have no idea how well this antenna would perform if you run power or live in an elevated location. Something that is often overlooked by novice cb'ers is the need to choose an antenna that is right for your location/situation, as well as your budget.I suspect that if you're just getting started, the PAT12 will work well for you, but as we have found, in time, you'll find upgrading to a higher end omnidirectional or beam antenna.You really can't beat the price. Also, mounting it and setting the swr's on the tuning ring was a breeze!

This antenna seems to work fine in the attic of my 2 story condo.

NO Hardware in the box

Easy assembly and adjustment through 2 rings at the bottom. 12 foot size is convenient and still a 1/2 wave. Some other base antennas running 18 feet are only half wave too but more expensive. American made was nice as well. Installed the ground plane for better performance. Very satisfied.

Great Antenna easy to install the swr is a 1.7 flat all 40 channels. Straight out of the box.
