Authentic traditional Polish flavor
Delicious flavor, wonderful aroma. Meaty with just the right amount of fat. As good as I remember you could get from where I grew up in Buffalo, NY. Not quite as flavorful as what I can get in Brooklyn, but no one ships from there. Very well packaged (well insulated box with cold packs) - came still cold at my door in San Francisco, Shipped from Pennsylvania. It's really hard to find good, authentic polish sausage in San Francisco

UPDATE: DO NOT BUY.
I am updating my review to reflect the decline in quality of this product. I had purchased it again recently for a festive occasion only to be greatly disappointed and embarrassed into how poorly the sausage was now being made. The spice profile is saltier. The fat content has been doubled. The quality in grind and cuts of meat used diminished. Eckrich quality or worse fatty and less appetizing and unjustifiably more expensive. I regret purchasing this product again. I will not purchase this sausage again. I am sorry to other customers who purchased this product after the maker had lessened the quality of it to salty, lard sausage type food. Some makers just ruin a good thing. Do not buy this sausage: it is overpriced and no longer fit for your family table. I include my initial review of this product to illustrate my honesty. It was made well. But now it is a please, don't buy. I regret having recommended this product.---My original review:Tasty. This product is reminiscent of Boarshead Polish smoked sausage, when it was good. A tad smokier. Better than Kowalski. Better than Schmaltz's of the last couple decades. It's the same type of Ruthenian/Polish sausage as Schmaltz's. Not as good as Andy's Deli/Polana from Chicago or Srodek's from Detroit. Not quite old Detroit Markowicz, but in the same league. Better than old Detroit Kopytko or Utica Happanowicz or Phoenix Stanley's. Far better than Detroit Dearborn Sausage Company sausage and much leaner. An Easter (Pascha)/Christmas worthy sausage you won't be ashamed of. It has an artisan quality to it which is reminiscent of the best of Eastern European immigrant, post War smoked sausage. It easily qualifies as a Polish or Russian or Serbian sausage. Authentic, old country style.Fat content is normal and cuts of meat are better, leaner, than average. Seasoning is authentic Ruthenian/Polish, just borderline conflicting with the smoke, but if you boil or cook with this sausage, it works out great. Natural casing, finer grind. I prefer coarse grind/chopped. But this sausage is good. Is it garlicky? Not more than normal. Delicious. There may be those into nitrate free, Butterball turkey smoked sausage who expect something 90% fat free at $4-$6 pound who don't like this sausage. It isn't gentrified or Madison Avenue marketed, no. Trader Joe's is your niche. This is real kielbasa. It is a blue collar family, ethnic festival, church picnic, special occasion type of slice on the bias and eat with hearty bread type sausage. It comes from the milieu of hard working people and old country tradition which isn't captive to suburban nutritional fads or supermarket chain mass produced necessity. This is an authentic food people raised on good ethnic, healthy dishes remember and fondly seek out. A good buy.Product comes packed with ice packs in insulated parcel where the sausage is sealed in a mylar, air tight package. Mine actually arrived a day late and it was still cold. This product being fully cooked and thoroughly smoked as well as shipped in sealed package in an ice packed parcel should allay any concerns of spoilage. You seldom find this type of old Slavic neighborhood quality sausage available these days. This is a sausage which could have been made by the generation that has passed and reflects well their legacy. It is a worthy kalbasa/kielbasa/kabasitsa/kabasy. I recommend it. If you are of Slavic/Eastern European ancestry and remember good holiday sausage and ethnic dinners, then you will be well served buying this kalbasa. Will buy again.

Shipping
Product was excellent and customer service was top notch. Shipping on the other hand was a bummer. USPS 2 day Priority ended up as 5 day! Next order I will request a better shipping service rather than USPS. It could have been a fluke.

Way too salty
I grew up eating Kielbasa made by Polish butcher shops in Greenpoint Brooklyn and it was heavenly. This kielbasa would have ranked right up there with them except for one thing the saltiness. I have never eaten such salty kielbasa in my life and I 've eaten a lot of kielbasa. Hugely disappointed.

NOT POLISH KIELBASA!
Didn’t taste like authentic Polish Kielbasa. Tasted like Jimmy Dean Brand. Expected more for the high price.
