I was keen to test these as I had a muscle sprain - but I've got to say I didn't find much heat was generated. The pads adhered well to the skin - I waited on the heat warming up but nothing much happened - there was an initial sensation of warming up but really just above skin temperature but not enough to provide any comfort.I have had better heat pads from other manufacturers. I have previously found Nexcare products to be good but sadly I'm a bit disappointed with these pads.

Heat patches are usually an effective way to treat aches and pains in muscles. The difficulty often lies in the application on certain parts of the body – not so with these as they're like large sticking plasters. Peel the back off, place the patch on the affected part; removing the backing seems to be what triggers the heat.Maximum temperature is 43 degrees C so it is not uncomfortably hot, and it has certainly had a beneficial effect on my left shoulder which develops an intense pain if I spend too much time on my computer. These patches are for single use only, which is a shame, but nonetheless useful to keep in the first aid box for occasional use.

Great value and effective heat patches. My partner is currently suffering from a frozen shoulder, and finds that heat helps with the pain a lot - so these are perfect for that and stay hot for a good long time. Will definitely purchase these again.

Good, stays on well and is comfortable. It is very affective and stays hot for the six hours it can be left in place for. Slender and not bulky . All you need to do is take the backing off and stick on. Stayed in place whilst on but came off easily

These are single use heat pads. They fix onto an area of muscle with the plastic sticky edges, and head up. They do get very hot, and although they last several hours, for some, the level of heat will limit the time they can tolerate this. I confess I am not keen on a single use system, for that I would rather go with a heat cream / spray - but the advantage here is that there is no clinical aroma to give the game away, so this can be worn at work.

These little patches deliver hours of gentle heat to relax tensed up muscles and ease mobility.All you have to do is remove the patch from its sealed plastic pouch, peal off the backing and apply.Works great on back, neck and shoulder - walking around and under clothes - they stay stuck, yet are removed very easily and without any smarting, once you are ready. I did try one on my knee but it was less successful and kept coming off.Just remember these are to ease stiffness and not treat injury. You will hinder the recovery and increase swelling if you apply these to a torn, bruised or otherwise injured muscle.

This consists of two heat patches per pack. When I first got it I tried one out on my aching shoulder to see what it would like. It attaches to the skin rather like a "large" (cigarette packet sized) sticking plaster, and as far as I can tell starts to heat up from the action of peeling off the backing paper.Except that at first, I couldn't really feel it working! It was slow to get going. Eventually it did warm up, but not unbearably so. According to the accompanying leaflet, the maximum temperature is only 43º C, which is only 6º above body temperature, so no wonder the effects only seemed mild.One thing to note is that these are single-use heat patches only, so they are only good for one-off aches and pains. If you have a more chronic condition, you might be advised to get a re-usable version, such as the Nexcare Coldhot Hot Instant.

This is an excellent heat pad, mainly because it doesn't burn your skin like so many others. It lasts all day, again unusual. It stays on perfectly. Most importantly, it works! I have a repetitive strain injury on my shoulder and neck and can be in agony. This is the best relief I have had and I have tried loads of different heat pads. This is the best. It is wonderful to be pain free.The box comes with 2 in it and they cover a large area but fit snugly on to the skin.
