Not too shabby
For the price you pay, I'd say it's worth it. I had to go over some areas of my carpet (high traffic areas) a few times to get it clean though. There were several things I did not like about it. The power cord could be a little longer, the collection tank has an open vent on top which dirty water can sometimes come out of if you move the shampooer around too much/fast, dumping the dirty water from the collection tank is kind of awkward because of where the pour spout is located and the shape of the collection tank, the solution tank is only 1/2 a gallon so depending on how large of an area you're cleaning expect to refill it often (had to refill it probably about 10 times), and the spin brush seemed kind of cheap or maybe it was just me but it worked well and I had no problems. Overall it got the carpet in my two bedroom apartment cleaner than it was before. I would recommend this product for small apartments or homes but definitely not for large areas otherwise you'll be spending a lot of time refilling the solution tank. I can't say anything about the longevity of the product since I just got it today. Overall I am pleased with this product so far and I would recommned it!

Good enough for small jobs
We have used large commercial carpet cleaners and also have used the rental Rug Doctor machines-and althoughthis product is small and takes longer since you have to keep changing the water (small reservoir), it does clean up small areas where your carpet is stained. If you need to clean up large areas though, you will just need to realize it will take longer than with a Rug Doctor because you have to keep changing the water so many times. But if you can put up with that, it does seem to clean well. So for the money, good choice if you only have small spills :)

Nice, effective, and a little small...
For the price, I'm not sure you can beat it. It's easy to assemble, easy to use, and does a good job. It's smaller than I expected, with a narrow vacuum head, which means more passes to clean a given area. Cleaning the unit is pretty simple for the most part, but I've yet to be able to figure out how to clean the brushes without disassembling the cleaner. Spraying water up into the brush cavity, though, has been pretty effective.Bottom line - If you're getting this for spot cleaning, it's probably exactly what you're looking for, all things considered. If you're trying to clean complete rooms (say, for example, after a party, or before you close out your lease), I think you want a bigger (more expensive) unit, because it simply doesn't have the capacity and width to be effective for sizable jobs.

Just be realistic
I have only used the carpet cleaning feature so I can only comment on they. Will this remove that 5 year old stain? NO!! Will this clean your carpets and save you a ton of money from the pros? Yes! I was a little concerned about the price but for the cost of renting a machine or haivng the pros come, it really pays for itself in one use. The only thing you have to invest is the time.It does not replace a great steam clean but I do think it is perfect for self upkeep. My hope is to use this once every 6 months to keep my carpets looking great. Comes with a sample of Bissell 2X Fiber Cleansing Advanced Formula, 24 Ounces, 62E5 and it does a great job. I used these to clean the carpet in my apartment (after living here three years... yikes!!) and it removed dirt that I had no idea was even there. If you have large rooms, you will have to refill the tank and empty the dirty water during the cleaning but that's no big deal. Just make sure to rinse out the dirty water tank really well when you're all done to keep it from getting caked with old dirt.I also bought some rugs from craigslist that were dirty and reeked of dogs! It made the rugs look new and the smell is not noticeable unless you are on the floor. I paid $30 for those rugs and they would have run me AT LEAST $150 had I bought them from a store. Another way this machine paid for itself. It's not perfect and will not remove extremely old set in stains, but for average use (or saving second hand products), I'm happy. Also, once I spilled a good amound of water on the carpet. Sucked most of it up in seconds, so no worry about mildew or waiting for it to dry.

Disabled at ease!
I am disabled, I use crutches and was really nervous about using this item because I had used a rented RugDoctor machine and I couldn't even push it. This machine is a dream! I can push it and it glides over the top of the carpet. I kept confusing the push pull motion of when to push the liquid out but I finally got the hang of it! I cleaned a living room that had a cat before me and a dog that I own (puppy). It's really a great machine! The water I got was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dirty! It's like this carpet is now a different color than it was when I started. However, I will redo the carpet one more time in the morning so that I can make sure the carpet is 100% clean and I'll do this one with pet carpet cleaner so that I can make sure it will get all the pet stains out. It took me 2 fills of detergent and water to clean the room, probably 15x15. I hope that this gets all the junk out. I don't see the problem with it cleaning the carpet like many have stated or barely touching the carpet. It's actually pretty good. If you're disabled or have balance issues or arthritis and want to clean carpet, get this machine! Make this machine the one you buy! Also, for those of us who are disabled or elderly, I want to also shout out to Bissell for making the containers "easy grab" and "not easy to spill!" When it was time to empty it, I was like UH OH! How do i get that stuff out and the machine back together without spilling! One thing I didn't find out is how to clean the grates, I had to stick a knife in there and get the junk out, mostly pet hair.
