Without a lid, there is no way to regulate the temperature of the contents. The packaging clearly states, "Take Caution: Hot beverages will remain hot for several hours." My coffee barely lasted 15 minutes before needing to be poured into another glass, reheated, then poured back in to this one. The size is too large to hold comfortably in a medium sized female hand and the shape is awkward. I received this as a gift so it is fine, but it is not a product I would purchase.
