Alffy Alfalfa Hay, 5Lb, Green

I paid $23.80 for this the last time I ordered it, which will be the last time I ordered it. I guess all of the good reviews made the product more valuable because the price went up $6.00, or perhaps ITS DUE TO THE DROUGHT.Finally! Alfalfa Hay that is what it claims to be! Healthy, Green, Fresh, Fragrant, and fast disappearing! Why so fast, because unlike all of the other brands I have ordered and wasted much money on, my Rabbits LOVE this stuff! One dealer tried to convince me that the "sticks" in their hay was necessary for my rabbit's health, (my rabbits must be junk food addicts then because they wouldn't go near the stuff) as for the rest of what they sent (dust in the wind) they admitted they had a bit of a problem there, Hallelujah! There are sticks, as in grown on trees that can poke your eyes out and then there are stalks of hay and straw that are a wee bit softer, like a lot of them you could stuff a comfortable pillow with and not worry about waking up with your face looking like it had a run in with a porcupine. I can tell the difference and apparently so can my rabbits. At any rate my Rabbits and I heartily recommend this Alfalfa hay.

Very fresh and fragrant, and a good amount for the price. My two 6 month old lionhead bunnies started munching on this right away, ignoring everything else. It’s so nice to receive something that is as expected, or better! Thank you, Small Pet Select, for being a vendor that I know will be sending me quality products!

I purchased this for my youngest rabbit who is only a few months old. He is absolutely addicted to it. It it so green and smells so fresh that I love giving it to him because it smells so fresh and yummy. He gobbles it up like it's the most amazing thing in the world. Now that he's getting closer to a year we are slowly weaning him off and switching him over to APD's Timothy hay. He likes the Timothy Hay but definitely works hard to pick out the Alfalfa that is mixed in first before he eats the Timothy. It's bunny crack!

My rabbit enjoys what little hay is in this 5 lb bag...MOST OF IT IS DUST!!!!! As a rabbit owner, you should know our little friends are pretty picky about what hay they eat; always searching for the perfect hay blade :) This was pretty disappointing, as I got through about 1/3 of the bag, I started to REALLY notice that the middle/bottom portion of the bag was all dust...barely any edible hay for my bunny :-/ I wouldn't recommend buying this, nor will I be buying it again. Try your local feed and seed store if you want something that isn't so dusty :(

Alfalfa is an odd hay, since it's not grass at all, but a legume. It tends to come apart and create 'dust' in the bottom of a bag. This hay was pretty darn good, though. About as good as it gets, and a good price for it. Bunny likes it, although he can't have too much of it (too rich for adult bunnies, but it's ok for a treat now and then). And he likes to toss the sticks around and make bunny nests out of them. I'll be buying again.

it smells great, looks good. My 2 girl guinea pigs love it, my boy hates it. do not no why. I took it out of the plastic trash bag like holder and put it in my own storage bin with a lid. I would say it is a nice cut and seems to be fresh ( nice dark green). I mix it with their other hay too. only down side it is very dry and seems to break into tons of very small flakes of what looks like a floor full of green snow...it is a great price for a lot of food.

While the product didn't come in the packaging it displays on the page, I don't care at all! My rabbit LOVES this hay. I will buy all of my hay from this company from now. It saves me lots of money, comes in bulk so I don't have to worry about getting more (although my rabbit would eat it all in one day if I let him), and it's quality is obviously superior to anything else I've found. Smells great, too.

Very nice fresh aromatic green hay packed nicely in layers into a bulk plastic bag and cardboard box. All my bunnies love to eat it. No way of knowing if it is organic without pesticides, but I would highly recommend and re-order this product. The price is far more reasonable than in stores, and shipping very good to Maui.
