Goodnight Trump: A Parody

I bought this for my sister in-law to help her make it through a long visit with her family. The writing and illustrations are witty and appropriately capture the travesty that is this presidency. It serves to remind us that no matter what the White House wants us to believe, "This is Not Normal!" The book is high quality, with a nice hard cover, heavy paper stock, and richly colored pictures. It's also printed in the USA; a welcome surprise! I'm a big fan of Goodnight Moon. This is a satire and is intended for adults. Folks who complain about this book not being appropriate for children have missed the point of satire. Of course it's not appropriate for children, but neither is anything about this presidency. Those who are complaining that they did not know that this book was before they bought it and were expecting a cute children's book full of kind and flattering words simply did not bother to read the description. (Draw your own conclusions on that one.) For those of us who know how to read and can understand satire, this is a fantastic book!

Sometimes it’s good to view complex things in simple and innocent ways. This commentary provides humor and honest reflections on America’s experiment with Trumpism. Wether you agree or disagree with this book’s premise, it will be a cause for thinking about tribalism in American politics.

I bought this for Valentine’s Day as a gag gift and husband actually loved it. Since he enjoys reading the actual book to our son.

The book was purchased for a not yet one year old who loves turning pages and who seems to know that those squiggles are actually telling a story, The political bent is there because I have quite a few take offs on GOOD NIGHT MOON.

This book is endlessly amusing and also accurate. Leave it on your coffee table or read it to your kids at night and laugh. (Mine are 21 and 16, and I read it in the voice I would have once read them Good Night Moon when they were little. There was great hilarity and minute examination of the pictures by all.) Just get it. It's freaking great.

Goodnight, Sleep Tight, All Will Become RightOut of the mouths of a children’s classic, a reassuring reminder of hope when people awaken. Perhaps, adults will be awakened by children as when a child exposes an arrogant emperor for his nakedness, exposing his grotesque nudity as well as his narcissism and his gullibility with a child’s purest innocence.Great book for it reminds us all of horrors of this tyrannical presidency, while it also provides a reassurance through every refrain of good night.Love it!

I bought this for a baby shower gift the day after the call was made. The book was a hit at the shower. Got passed around and everyone gave it a read. (For Covid reasons, it was a small outdoor shower, just wanted to put that in there.)
