1:18 Illumibox acrylic black base display case, w/ LED lights

This is a great looking case overall and for the money. It's super easy to put together and can run off of 4 AA batteries or a cord, the batteries were a big thing for me so I didn't have to hide a cord. The two things that I didn't like were the injection mold spot on the top (it really does take away from an otherwise awesome product), and I wish the base was lined with something (I'm going to wrap it). Overall all though I'm really happy with it and will buy another.

This fit my 1:18 Scale Tesla Model Y perfectly, there are 4 light poles that you can install, you do not need to install all of them, they plug into a metal receptacle on the plastic base corners. You can put batteries in or use the included USB cable, if you get more than one of these you could plug these into one of those very inexpensive USB-A hubs you get at a trade show for free then to an outlet. I use the USB A connection. The cover is clear plastic there is a small mold mark on the top in the center that is not too noticeable. If you are putting this on anything you do not want to scratch you will need to put some felt feet on this, it does not come with them, which is disappointing. Other than that it is the only thing out there like this, you can put just about anything in here that you can secure, I put bumpers on either side of the back wheel to keep the model in place.

I had just acquired an expensive diecast model and wanted to display it the best way possible. This lighted display case was just the answer. It was easy to put batteries in and assemble, and the lights worked just as they should. I added some rubber feet to the bottom so it didn't slide around when I pressed the on/off switch. Because it would be in a bookcase and not near an outlet, I use the batteries instead of the USB cord. I only turn it on when someone is looking at it, so I doubt I'll run the batteries down soon. This case was only slightly more than unlighted cases, so in my mind that makes this an excellent buy. I highly recommend this product.

Far easier to put together than I thought. I am not good at putting together things, but you merely have to screw in the already put together 4 lights and you are done. It comes with a USB cord, but just be aware that you need to plug it into a USB port. You may want to purchase one of those small USB chargers that are very inexpensive when you purchase this product. The USB charger will then plug into any American outlet, and of course you can use an extension cord then if you need to. It's got a little on-and-off pushbutton on the base in the front, which is very convenient. You can adjust separately which way the lights .2 which is very useful when displaying because people are looking at it from a particular angle. The lights illuminate anything in the display case very well and actually I have received many compliments. It is actually very beautiful to look at. It's actually larger than it looks in the picture, although the dimensions are given. Great for larger model cars. I have a1/18" diecast metal car in mine and there is plenty of room to spare. That's actually a very large car model. So you just screwing the lights which take about one minute, plug the included USB cable into any USB port, turn it on and you are done. Just what I was looking for.

So I had a moment when this came in. I didn't pay attentioin to the dimensions (late night shopping will do that to ya) & saw the little bug (car) in the picture and thought it was perfect size for the match box car I just got my hubby. It was a surprise for him for his birthday, but when this came in & it was HUGE...kinda couldn't hide it from him. So it has become a joke! But to make good use of it even though it is WAY bigger than what is needed, he wants to get old hot wheel tracks to put in it to make a little scene for his 1976 Speed Racer car. So he is happy and that is all that matters! Oh the lights are bright! This is an awesome case!

I love the IDEA of this display case, but the part that holds the usb charger in? Is BARELY attached. I mean ONE false move, one accidental trip? One snag of this usb and it’s coming out. It worked for two months. Then I had to start putting small weights on the cord. YEAH the battery works but do you REALLY want that battery stress? To consistently worry abouty your light dimming. Anyway, the rest of the product is great, the lights are awesome. But IF you buy this, you should open it up and somehow reinforce that mini usb. I tried to solder it but burned the board. Be EXTREMELY careful with the Lid too because it scratches easily. And that’s self evident but the lights stick out sometimes, you gotta line it up right.. otherwise great product

This is a great box and I wish it would have worked for me. It was just a bit too small for the item I wanted to display in it, so I'll need to return it. However, I can say that the quality is very good and I really wished it would have been just a little larger so I could have kept it.

I purchased this for my 1:18 scale, 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.... it fits perfectly..... if anyone's wondering for car size, my car is 11-1/4 inchs long... I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to make sure there car is dust free.... as for the condition of the display case, I reseved it with no scratches and all 4 display lights work.... i also recommend getting it put in a box for added protection well being shipped, if you have that option....I recommend this.. 10 thumbs 👍
