A Taste of Luxury
This review is coming from someone who is used to heading down to the local store and just buying whatever looked decent and was inexpensive. We recently upgraded our bedding and one of the comforters was too small for the duvet cover. While I would love to have a five-star hotel type one, it was just not in the budget. And yet, I still hoped for something nice and came across the hospitology one.Overall the reviews were very positive, so I ordered one expecting it to be comparable to what we have, and that would fit in the duvet cover properly. I have only had it for a short time, yet it has been a lot better than all of our other comforters. When I opened the box and saw the plastic bag, I thought I had ordered the wrong size. The plastic package looks just like the pictures above, yet is pretty small, measuring 16"L x 6"W x 12"H with the duvet vacuum-sealed inside. If you have never purchased anything vacuum-sealed, be aware there is a initial smell when you cut it open. The comforter itself did not really smell and the plasticy odor dissipated within a minute.Secondly, as soon as you break the vacuum seal, the duvet insert will immediately begin to expand to it's original shape and 94"x90" size. Therefore, I recommend pulling it out right away and unfolding it. Give it a few minutes to fluff up fully before washing. The one I received expanded to about two inches and we let it sit for about 15 minutes. The microfiber shell is very soft to the touch, even unwashed. The fill is evenly spread and there were no visible clumps or bunching. Even though this is listed as a duvet insert, it looks and feels good enough to use on its own.I washed it on delicate cycle and tumble-dried on low heat. It took two cycles on low heat to fully dry, but the results were worth it. The comforter/insert did not shrink at all and had zero odor outside of that fresh-clean smell. After washing/drying, it felt even softer and very smooth. The surface was not rough and there was no pilling.Located at all four corners are loops to secure it inside of your duvet cover. The cover we put this inside does not have anything for the loops, yet it has not moved out of place. I am currently using this one Brielle Bamboo Graph Duvet Cover Set, Made in Turkey, Comes in a Giftable Box (Full/Queen). There are lots of covers out there, with a variety of feel and material, so use one that makes you more comfortable.Prior to the Hospitology, I had been using two 1" thick comforters for sleeping. As I got warmer during the night, I would throw one off. Conversely, if I got colder, I would put it back on or grab another one. By itself, this duvet insert has been wonderful in maintaining an optimal sleeping experience; not too hot and not too cold. For comparison's sake, I tried sleeping with it inside the duvet cover and without. In both cases, it performed above my expectations. If you are used to five-star hotel bedding, then I do not know how this would compare. However, if you are used to decent store bought comforters and are looking for something a lot better for your money, then I would highly recommend the Hospitology. It has made a big difference for me and it is nice to have a little bit of "luxury."I have to say that I love this duvet and just ordered a second one. If my experience changes, I will update this review, but for now it is my five-star bedding.

***Amazing Duvet Insert For A Fraction Of The Cost Of Others***
I have a 4 year old daughter who just graduated from a toddler bed to a big girl bed. Her favorite color is purple. My wife found a beautiful twin bedding set with lilacs on it. It consisted of a duvet cover and a pillow sham. So, we purchased her a bed (bunk beds so she could have sleepovers) and this Heavenly Microfiber Goose Down Alternative Duvet Insert by Hospitology to go with her bed set. It worked great. It's a bit tricky getting the duvet insert inside a cover evenly. It's even harder to get it to stay there. This product has tie ports at all 4 corners that the duvet cover ties to. It keeps it in place. We were so thankful for this. It's machine washable. It's remarkably fluffy for not being made out of goose down. It's very warm. The fit is perfect. It comes in various sizes so you can get the size that fits your bed the best. It's a high quality duvet insert at a fraction of the cost of others I looked it. And this is NOT because they skimp on quality. This product it awesome. We are so glad that we purchased this for our daughter. She loves her new bed. She loves the pattern on her bedding. And she especially loves this insert inside the cover. She says it makes her bed more comfortable to sleep in. So, if you are looking for a duvet insert I urge you not to pay an arm and a leg for other ones which are well over a hundred bucks. Grab this one instead. You won't regret it.I paid full price for this product. It was not obtained through a promotion.

Excellent buy for the price point
Having had no prior experience with duvets I am passing on my observations about this product. I always look at the negative comments first then temper them with the longer positive comments which are usually more informative.A good friend gave me a beautiful king size duvet cover and after finding out about what they are I proceeded to order a duvet insert. This model was the least expensive so I figured I would try it in case I did not like a duvet. The material and finishing quality was far above my expectation for a bottom price tier. It is full synthetic so there are no naked birds flying around just so I can be warm.Having been squeezed into a heavy plastic bag it was pretty flat but a few shakes and the loft was thicker than Walmart's best comforter (another gift from a friend which I do not use because it slides off the bed too easily, I prefer being warm to decorating the bedroom floor during the night). This insert is thick enough to lend good warmth but not too thick that I sweat. It is thin enough and priced low enough that a second one could be used in really cold climates for extra warmth. For me, in Pennsylvania, just one is perfect.I read one detailed review about the block sewing not being sufficient to retain the filler. Personally, if I have that problem I'll happily throw a few stitches in it myself rather than pay the price difference for one with extra stitches, but I don't see that being a problem.I now understand and love my duvet. It is nice and warm when I go to sleep and still there in the morning when I wake.I will purchase this insert again when I get another duvet.

They got this right.
This is the second time I have purchased this duvet. The first time was for a King size bed. It was fantastic and I had used it for what seems like years. I had decided to down size my bed and purchased a queen instead. I wanted to get the same duvet. I have used it in both winter and summer. You will not regret this purchase. I am a very happy customer.
