Long Vegetable Peeler

This peeler is simply the best. It works amazing! It's sharp, it's smooth, and does not clog or stick. I use it to peel everything! Veggies, potatoes, fruits, you name it, it peels it. I've had it for over a year and it is still going strong. Great and simple design, fits in my hand, easy to hold on to and to use. It peels carrots and other veggies to perfect thickness for stir fry too. I highly recommend.

It's extra large overall but it hasn't been too large for small veggies like extra young carrots. You don't need to put much pressure on the peeler to get it to work well just touch the blade against the veggie and gently drag it across. It also comes with the plastic blade protector so you can't cut yourself looking for something in the drawer and it keeps the blade safe from dulling and damage. I love it so far!

Great product. Definitely a great item, extremely sharp, long as described, do yourself a favor and buy. It is so sharp that I cut my thumb nail.

This is a Japanese (Seki) made and very sharp vegetable peeler that comes with a protective sheath for storage. The peeler is much longer than most, and the handle may take getting use too for those use to rubberized handles. It is my most favorite vegetable peeler and the best I have ever used. The protective sheath is there for a very good reason - to protect the blade and you.

Long, long ago, in a Marine Corps far, far away, I developed a real appreciation for Japanese culture, girls, food, motorcycles, product quality in general... and vending machines with beer in them. It may be a lesser know fact, but over there, they have a very Japanese approach to things, with their unique pragmatism and appreciation for elegance and efficiency. Shocking, right? As a general rule, when they make something, the maker wants it to reflect well. It shows. Ever since my time there, if I don't get an American made product first, I will go out of my way to find Japanese made products, like this simple, humble, peeler. I've yet to be disappointed with any product I've so selected and this thing is no exception. I had a $5.00 wally-world (ccp) piece of... you get it... which broke. Of course. The blade ended up in the garbage disposal and I had to fish it out of there. Ta-daaa! Anyway, since I needed a new peeler I decided to quit screwing around and get a real tool for the job. By comparison, there is no $#%&#$* comparison. This thing is a light saber and you will be going full Jedi Knight on some carrots and stuff. Quality steel. Sharp! Will stay that way for a long time. Simple and elegant. Highly efficient use of materials and well executed production. This thing makes the work so much easier, faster, less effort, I kinda hate myself a little bit for not doing this in the first place. Thank you Japan. Love the peeler!

Love this peeler. Easy to grip. Smooth operating, sharp. Safe for dishwasher if placed where blade doesn't get hit. Have had it over 6+ months still like new. Thinking of buying another to make sure I don't have to endure the search for a good one ever again.

It works good and works well on peeling oak trees and pine and fir trees. I don't understand why they have to make it so huge. Are they re-using old katanas to make these? It can double as a weapon if ninjas invade your kitchen.

This pealer is larger than most I've had, but I love using it. The handle is ergonomic and the slicer is razor sharp. Love it!

Amazon rechazo mi primer intento de opinar; tal vez por la foto que subi de mi dedo cortado! Como no explican exactamente porque, intento de nuevo! Nunca me había cortado con un pelador de verduras hasta ahora! Es muy filoso y eso no es ningún problema. Es la ranura la cual es muy ancho y es difícil no pelar demasiado profundo a las verduras. Al tratar de pelar una zanahoria delgada sin quitarla demasiado, me corte bastante profundo el dedo gordo. Probablemente lo devolveré porque es demasiado peligroso usarlo.

Really great product. Great for thin slicing large vegetables like potatoes for chips or au Gratin. Does most of the same things as a mandolin without having to clean up so much blood from sliced off finger tips.

Very sturdy and extremely sharp. Should last my life time. Worth the cost.

This is a, For A Lifetime Peeler. You know how you can buy one thing and it will probably last your lifetime? This peeler is likely going to be one of those things. Made with excellence that the Japanese take such pride in, and they should! Love this peeler. When my kids move out they're getting a Zojurishi rice cooker, a 20 kg bag of rice and one of these peelers! Splurge on it. You'll never look back and this peeler will ruin you for all other peelers. Take good care of it and it will always be ready to go. I wash it immediately after every use. It handles everything from a kiwi fruit to a giant Daikon radish or giant knobby potatoes. I've even used it to peel papaya and even pineapple after the initial thicker skin is cut off. I use it for clean up. It just keeps peeling away without skipping a beat. Rinse the last veggie or fruit and move on!

An amazing peeler so far. So sharp and smooth it doesn't catch on veggie bumps. I've owned dozens of these over years and this one is superior by far, I had ordered two by mistake and decided to keep the second one for a family member. One caution is, as others have said, it is extremely SHARP. I decided to buy a small pair of the safety gloves for things that get slippery in the hand as they get peeled... like potatoes or kiwis etc. This peeler has made me no longer dread peeling these things.
