The Ultra Dry Premium 20L Bag kept vital items dry in a flooded Kayak.
It's not my custom to give 5 stars right after getting a product but this product earned it.This bag did a stellar job and the water resistant phone case save my iPhone 7 plus fro certain water destruction. The scene: New to Kayaking I purchased the 20L Waterproof Bag thinking I might need to protect gear from wet. This would enable me to store items needing to stay dry under the deck at my feet. There is little to no room in Kayak hatches. The Ultra Dry Premium 20L bag caught my interest because it had nice handle and straps to carry it as a backpack. (any water trekker knows shorelines tend to be muddy slides or rocky all hands on deck climbs) and the phone case could dangle around my neck or be tied on board (has quick release buckle. (which was critical for me) Did a stream trek with multiple downed trees and one hair pin passage through newly downed trees completely covering the stream. I had let my daughter use the Kayak on this stretch little did we know we were coming up on this bushy situation. Another person in our group got hung up in the tangle and My daughter in my Kayak with iPhone in case and Ultra Dry bag onboard got distracted helping the other person and was soon sucked under the downed trees by the current. She quick thinking popped out of the Kayak tipping it into the full current submerging the Kayak with the Ultra Dry Premium 20L Waterproof bag below deck. Holding on with all her might to try to retain the kayak further down into the mess of branches I told her My iPhon is on there she was able to grasp it and pinch the release buckle one handed and recover it in time hand the phone over to some one else letting go of the Kayak to submerge disappearing under the brush and head down stream.Upon retrieving it down stream and draining it out there was the Ultra Dry Premium 20L bag still below deck. The Kayak was under water in rushing current for about 5 minutes recovered and drained after10 minutes. iPhone in dry bag was under water in current for 2 minutes. Results iPhone was completely dry. Ultra Dry Premium 20L Waterproof bag had a little seepage at the opening. There were drips of water inside the bag which was folded over three times and buckled but nothing was soaked didn't even think about checking the bag until we got to the takeout (for the Car Remotes which were not wet) an hour later. So I think this product saved the day.

perfect for kayak camping
I bought two of the 20 liter waterproof bags these to stick in my kayak to keep food and clothes dry on kayak camping trips. They feel solid, well made and much more rubbery than other dry bags I own. I particularly like the handle. It's convenient to grab the handle when shoving a bag in and out of the hatch on a kayak. The bags came with bonus phone dry bags (with clear windows). I am not brave enough to test out the bonus phone bag by dunking my phone under water, but it looks well made and it fits my largish smart phone well.I would say the construction is top notch. There are D-rings to connect two shoulder straps so you can carry the dry bag like a backpack. Since this is not a backpack, I suggest that it might not be comfortable for a long hike, but this is a dry bag, not an actual backpack. There is a large handle on top that is grippy and comfortable, and it looks like it is pretty strong. It is attached with some thick reinforcing material so I expect it will last well.Does it keep out water? I didn't dunk test it, but it kept my gear dry in the rain. If anyone wants me to dunk test it, I'll be happy to and post an update. My wife and I took the two bags plus a couple of other dry bags on a camping trip last weekend. At 20 liters, the bags are a nice size to fit in the smaller forward compartment in my kayak. I filled one dry bag with my sleeping bag, a fairly large inflatable pillow (with memory foam) a couple of pairs of shorts, extra underwear, socks, shirts, and a pair of hiking pants, and I could have fit even more if I wanted. My wife also had plenty of room for her gear.

Review after lots of use
My wife and I are cruising sailors and our boat is in French Polynesia. I don't leave the boat without all goods in a dry bag, but I'm tired of carrying around the weight in my hand as with my other dry bags. I've looked for a reasonably priced dry bag with shoulder straps and found this one on Amazon. We just returned from 3 months on the boat and I'd like to update my review.I am very pleased with the bag! It is very durable and the model that I bought, the 20L, holds all that I normally carry: laptop, iPad, camera, sunglasses case, water bottle, etc. I can't get an unbroken baguette into it ;-), or my machete for cracking coconuts, but everything else fits well. It stows to nothing, is fairly lightweight, and I do love the usably-sized carrying handle. After several months of regular use, my bag is still completely waterproof. Every time we take the dingy to shore, the loaded bag gets set into the inevitable rain water in the bottom, but I have no worries. I think it's a bargain at the price. The ultimate compliment, I guess, is that I'm buying one for my wife since she saw how enamored I was with mine.

Does the job it's supposed to do!
I took this bag out over the weekend for a kayaking trip. I decided to test it right away, so included in my gear was a cheap ham radio (Baofeng UV-5R). I was playing in the waves since it was warm and sunny all weekend. After awhile I had taken on quite a bit of water, enough for the bag to be sloshing around in it. Stopped to dump the kayak and check the bag, not a drop of water inside. A job well done. After the promising results, I decided a tougher test was in order. So today when I got home, I put a dumbbell in it and sank it to the bottom of my rain barrel (~4ft). Understand, this is not what dry bags are for! They're not really meant to be submerged for extended periods. Left it there for 5 minutes, there was a small stream of bubbles coming up the entire time, but to my surprise there was only maybe a teaspoon of water inside. Not enough to make a sock damp, let's put it that way. Not too shabby for a torture test.I didn't use the phone case, as I have a waterproof speaker box that I use to play music and podcasts on longer trips. I did test it as suggested, went to a soccer game, forgot about it, noticed it still underwater in the sink the next morning, perfectly dry. Honestly, I'll probably store the state required paperwork that has to be on the boat in it from now on.

Fantastic
Bought the Ultra Dry bag to keep some essentials dry while canoeing the 20 litre is a perfect size and gave a lot of confidence from the start. It did it’s job perfectly keeping everything completely dry. The bonus phone dry bag is the best that I have used, simple closure device and once again a confidence in the product. I took it to Majorca last week and kept cash and my phone in it while swimming some distance to an island, once again everything completely dry. Fantastic products at an amazing price. Perfect design and functionality. Absolutely delighted with my purchase and I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending the Ultra Dry bag and phone bag!

1010
I use it for holding first aid kit, fire extinguisher, flares and other essential bits while out in the boat, this bag never comes out of the boat and it has kept all the contents bone dry for the last year. Very happy with it and will be buying more in the future for other uses.

Awesome!
What a great bag! Got the 20L and it fits spar shorts, t shirts, socks, underwear, trainers and a towel. The phone case works better than the one I originally had an does keep the phone completely dry! Great product all round! Originally I got the 5L but that was my mistake I couldn’t fit everything I needed. If you’re looking for quality, look no further.

Great product
Bought this for the paddle board. As you can see from the photo is got quite wet but the contents remained perfectly dry, which was good as I was carrying my friends insulin kit. I bought the 10ltr bag. I had 2 towels, a pair of shorts, a shirt, a mobile phone and an insulin kit. Ideal for shorter trips and fits perfectly under the bungee stowage on the paddle board deck.
