Made to haul all the gear you need—but flexible enough to slim down for shorter rides—the Raptor 14 is our premium pack for mountain bikers who demand top quality from their gear. Don’t like how hydration packs feel over gnarly terrain? Neither did we. So we designed shoulder straps in the shape of wings that curve the same way you do when you’re in riding position. An AirScape suspension and backpanel provide a close-to-body carrying experience and elevate comfort and stability to unprecedented levels, while still allowing for dynamic body movement. An included 2.5-liter reservoir with direct-zip hose access ensures straightforward loading, while a tool roll organizes the ingredients to get you moving again should you have any trailside troubles. Standard helmets attach with our LidLock system and side compression straps will fit your full face helmet.

Nice bag, but they've skimped on the new reservoirs.....
I love this bag, but the fact that the included reservoir doesn't have the hose quick release like previous models makes me a bit cranky. This was always a standard feature, and made cleaning much easier - I guess now I'll just have to pull the hose off of the factory fitting to clean the entire length with a hose brush?? There goes the expected lifecycle of this reservoir! I hate it when companies get rid of useful features to save a few pennies, and it's disappointing so see Osprey do it here. Incidentally, if you order the 2.5L reservoir by itself, the quick release is still standard (or so says the picture on Amazon). I definitely have to knock a few stars off of one of the most expensive hydration packs out there for cutting corners - especially when the older version was more full-featured and less expensive. Maybe it's time to return and make the switch to a different hydration system.

Nice bag, but poor temperature isolation
I have camelbaks for almost 10 years and this is my first from other brand. The point is that bag is amazing. Lots of pockets and you can stay very organized with everything. The size is perfect to me also. Good for quick rides (not too big) and good for longs one that you can take some clothes, food and water. What let me upset was the thermal isolation. There isn’t any system to isolate the hydrabag inside the bag, just for your back. I love to put ice on the water and now everything in the bag stay cool but the water. I’m going to buy a thermal bag to put the hydrabag inside and solve the problem but I think this would be a great upgrade for the product

Absolutely a perfect hydration pack.
Just an absolute perfect hydration pack. Quality is above par. I've used this pack now many times for hiking and biking and I am 100% satisfied. Holds everything I need no matter what the adventure. I did buy the quick release attachment for the reservoir and the cleaning kit as well. I am happy that I did. I honestly want to buy another one just to have for a friend or if I lose mine. I absolutely love and reccomend this Osprey Raptor hydration pack!!!

Was on the fence between this and the 10
Its not too big. I was going to get the 10, but was torn between having extra space or not. This works perfectly for me for my few hour mtn bike rides where I need to carry some tools, water, first aid, etc. Its more than big enough for my EDC. At 6'2 I would actually consider the overall size of the bag a bit smaller than I had thought it would be. Thats not to say it does not have enough room, but that its lighter and better than I could have imagined. I think the 10 size would have been too small for my body size. The water packs seems good. It was a bit confusing at first as it really sticks closed, like to the point I thought I was doing something wrong while prying it open. After you open it once it opens much easier from then on. Holds double the water I needed to complete a normal 2 hour mtn bike ride on a 90 degree day with high humidity. This is a good all day pack if that is your goal.Storage everywhere. I use the included tool wrap to hold my tire spoons, multi tool, chain tool, zip ties and spare master link. Still room to spare. Inside the main compartment I fit my full first aid kit, tire pump, and still have plenty of room for my wallet, keys, etc. Still plenty of extra space available if I were to make it a day trip.Overall I am extremely satisfied. I was a bit reluctant to spend that much money on a backpack, but it is much more comfortable than my old one and well thought out.

Not built for big guys.
Overall a solid pack. Lots of room some of it wasted. Also not made for larger people.Very comfortable pack. Stays put when riding. What I would change or update. The hose is too short to lay across my chest as designed. So instead of connecting hose to magnetic Mount it has to dangle. The belt packs are useless. Impossible to reach with pack on. They are too far back. There are too many extra pockets that can’t be sealed. That makes them useless and just added weight. No bag is perfect for everyone. But this is the best one I have found since my old camelback HAWG.

One of the best purchases in my assortment of mtn biking accessories. Love this thing.
This pack is incredible well designed. I love it. I avoided using it at first because it's the dead of summer. I thought it would be hot and uncomfortable. The water bladder is high quality and the top opens up completely, sealed by a folding clip. Not only does this allow it to dry out quickly, but it's easy to add ice to. The combo of the bladder and the ventilated spine protector makes your back the coolest part of your body. No overly wet condensation issues either. Both the chest strap clip and the water nozzle are magnetic, so its simple to connect and the nozzle stays securely on your chest until needed. Seems like they thought of everything and I haven't used all the features yet. But the tool pack at the bottom unrolls and grants easy access to all your tools when needed. The zippers are all easily handled. The bag tethers down securely so its manageable regardless much or how little you stuff into it. Even has a large open compartment that I can strap me knee and elbow pads into when not in use. Confident this is a purchase you won't regret.

Great pack. Stays snug on the back. Go light on the bite valve though.
This pack is great. I ride 2 - 3 times a week in the desert. I drink a lot of water. The pack has held up really well over the last year. The water tastes great and when cold helps keep me cool. It does make for a sweaty back though, so keep that in mind (but that’s all backpacks... this one actually feels pretty breezy, but you still sweat). It stays nice and snug when rolling up and over stuff, riding off drops and even shooting gnarly gaps (like I’d know). Truth is I have felt a slight lift on my back when jumping, but for me it’s barely noticeable and hasn’t had any impact on my ability to not crash.Only complaint I have is that the bite valve on the end of the drinking tube has sprung a slight leak. Not sure if that’s my fault or build quality, but I’d expect it to last longer given I don’t think I bite down hard at all when drinking and osprey is known for quality.. the valve doesn’t seem like it can just be replaced so I may have to buy an all new bladder. Ugh.

Go on - pay the money, it’s worth it
I dithered for ages over making this purchase just because it was so much more expensive than similar products on the market, and that’s before the extra £15 on the water proof cover.I took the plunge though and haven’t regretted it. I’ve used it in some pretty hot temperatures and the ribbed back cushioning made it light and comfortable as well as preventing my back from overheating. The material is strong - I badly snagged it on some brambles on my second outing and turned around cursing and fully expecting to find it ripped. It was fine. All the pockets are excellent and handily laid out with everything convenient - like Osprey has sweated every single design decision, which I suppose is what you’re paying for.The bladder is great and carries much more than I thought it would, with the additional bonus of keeping it cool in the rucksack - a massive improvement on the luke warm drink I’m used to having from a bottle cage. It’s a pain to clean, but that’s the nature of it - you can either buy a cleaning kit (expensive again) or just stand it upside down on a bottle to dry it. Plenty of advice on the net for effective cleaning. All in all, I’m well pleased with the purchase - there’s no way around it, you get what you pay for. That makes this great value.

Amazing quality, rated THE best day hydration pack by various MTB magazines
Always a quality product from osprey, but this is well thought out and a great fit for MTB all day sesh! The back isn’t vented like some back packs but I assumed this was for stability, freeze half your bladder before your ride and it’s spot on. I had to you tube how to open the bladder to begin with as it is very stiff to begin with and I was scared of damaging it, but it was very easy in the end. Little tip, peg it up after use with a toilet roll in the opening to let it breath. Water tastes of plastic to begin with, but this does ease. Excellent product myself and my mate have bought the same one, and this was the cheapest price I could find.

Definitely worth it. Great price.
Much more impressive in real life than in the photos. It’s a pretty awesome bag. A little smaller than the photos can show but plenty of storage. Very well made by the looks of it and nice colour on the inside (light blue). Ventilation looks really good too.

Slightly over priced
My first hydro pack (I don't like wearing any kind of back pack because at the contact point between afore mentioned and skin a tropical rainforest begins to form and this product didn't fail to produce another climate) great water capacity keeps me going for 4hrs mountain biking, 4 zip pockets with adequate room for energy bars rain jacket etc. Overall a great well made product but over priced hence 4 stars
