Strangely addictive
I've been test-driving low sugar and low carb protein bars. All of them are expensive, compared to eating foods in a more natural state, but sometimes I need a quick meal, a healthy treat, or something that travels well when camping & hiking. I bought these, along with an assortment box of primal Bhu bars. I loved the flavors of the Bhu bars, and this bar tasted a little bland in comparison. But now I keep coming back to these because they are way less sweet than other bars. And they don't seem to trigger sugar cravings, which is really critical for me. Plus, if you cut a bar in half and stick it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds the pieces puff up and "bake", tasting like a peanut butter cookie.

Previously awesome keto-friendly bars. The new recipe sucks.
OMG, these are AWESOME!!!! The peanut butter sea salt ones are the only ones I've tried. These are the BEST (only??) keto-friendly food bars I've ever found. IOnly 3 net carbs per bar.Having said that, I've been on a ketogenic diet more off than on for the past 3 years, and seriously, finding good tasting, clean, high quality food bars that fit a keto diet is nearly impossible. All plant protein, no soy, and 3 net carbs, plus they taste awesome.I just bought the max quantity while they're on sale. The only downside is the size. I wish they were bigger. I usually end up eating several even as a snack. Still I'm addicted.Update 9/6/2017: Ok so, the last couple of boxes must have had a different recipe. Different weight, taste, texture and consistency.. Much more air, not chewy at all, less quantity and density, much less of what I enjoyed. The recipe has clearly changed drastically, and not for the better. The price also went up. If the next box I order is the same "new" recipe, I won't be placing any future orders... I just had another from the "new recipe" box.. dropped it down to 2 stars.. The new recipe sucks.9/22/17: Tried the peanut butter & dark chocolate. Apparently this version has also been subject to the enormous decrease in good ingredients. I'm very disappointed in this company. What was an amazing product has gone from great to terrible practically overnight.

Quality went downhill
Man I used to love these bars. I’d have one for breakfast almost every day and they’d keep me full until an early lunch. They used to be soft, slightly oily, and fresh tasting. The last several boxes have been varying levels of awful. The price went up but the quality went way down. Now they’re hard, dry, and I’ve opened several packs (from different boxes) to find mold, even though they had almost a year left in date. This morning I bit down on something really hard (not a peanut, I don’t know what it was), and that was the last straw. I canceled my subscription and I won’t be buying these again. It’s too bad, they’ve been my breakfast staple for more than a year.

Awful when bought on Amazon, good at Whole Foods.
I've been buying these bars for a year or so from Whole Foods and really love them. Yes, the taste is a bit strange at first since they are unsweetened - but if you're trying to avoid sugar/sweeteners, these are one of the few on the market. We're all so accustomed to our food being sweetened that something that's not can seem 'off' at first.BUT: I've now bought these from Amazon 2 or 3 times. They are TERRIBLE when bought from Amazon - I don't know if it's a storage problem, or something goes awry during shipping, but they taste sour, hard, and disgusting. Nothing like when I buy them at Whole Foods. Not worth it just to save a few bucks.(And yes, I'm aware that Amazon now owns Whole Foods, that doesn't change the issue)

Made Me Sick
I am writing this review to warn others of the product inconsistency. I have been eating these bars for breakfast for over a year. About once every 3 months I will get a box that makes me very sick. I have stuck with them because when they are good, I enjoy them. However, this last batch that made me sick has made me decide to stop purchasing from them. Amazon will not provide a refund because it's a food item and the manufacturer will not respond to my emails. This is very poor customer service and it makes me wonder how many others are getting sick. I love Herbalife, so I will be switching to their cookie dough protein bar instead of this for breakfast. I can't afford to get sick once every few months because of the poor quality assurance.

Tasted better when it was my only option
I used to eat these at work before Covid and thought I'd order them to have at home. I can't eat gluten or soy so finding a healthy snack at work with protein was a bit difficult. I think it was the lack of options that made these seem more appealing to me at the time. They're very bland and plain. Since the shelf life is pretty good, I'm saving the rest of these for my emergency food supply...because an emergency is the only thing that would encourage me to eat these again. Idk how they managed to make peanut butter gross.
