LOVE THIS
I'm that kind of DIY guy that MAKES HIS OWN HOOD. I don't do a lot of welding so I don't have a bunch of hours on this lens and can't speak to the durability of the electronics, but in terms of view size, comparing this lens to most others out there is like comparing IMAX to a dinky handheld Watchman for those of you old-school enough to remember them.

Welding lens works good.
Lens works good and fits perfect in my Lincoln welding helmet. Perfect replacement for the 2450 series viking lens that went bad on me. Plus has a bigger viewing area. Have to see how long it lasts.

Auto Shading Lens
I do MIG, TIG, and stick welding so the variable shading is a nice feature. The lens works well and very quick on the switch. It is thicker than the 10 year old lens it replaced. I had to return a hood due the fact it did not fit. Measure carefully to make sure it will go into the helmet you have. Also I have always used a protective throw away lens front and back to protect the expensive auto shading unit. This unit does not allow an inner protective lens due to the variable control pots and the overall thickness of the unit.
